Houlgate was pretty dead on a Saturday night and many of the restaurants were empty. This is set back from the Main Street but is worth a look. Appearances count! It was mostly full, the decor is excellent both inside and out with a very welcoming garden. Service good and attentive throughout. Interesting food - all well cooked and presented....

This is very central and they have an excellent restaurant at a reasonable price. There is no hotel parking but we managed to find free parking at a nearby church. Chose to have dinner here in view of good reviews and it was good. Very welcoming hostess and we had a small but comfortable room. There was a downward slope...

We were treated really well throughout our visit. Little touches that make all the difference. Room was small but functional and everything worked well. Hotel is cheap and very well-positioned. Houlgate is lovely but I knew that. (Their Restaurant is very nice too!)

Agree with other reviews that food is great but service is slow. However what makes this place special is the ambiance and the excellent cuisine which puts Normande cooking in a different perspective, and all that at a reasonable price!

My husband and I stopped here for 2 nights on our way to the ferry port. The hosts were friendly and the room was small but beautifully appointed and tastefully decorated. The food in the restaurant is what has sold this to me. We ate here both nights of our stay. The menu is reasonably priced for excellent quality food....

Stayed for two nights on route to Brittany. Great location a short stroll (2 mins) from a fabulous beach . Rooms of a boutique style , recently well renovated . A popular restaurant as part of the hotel. Only downside is that the staff have poor English but this is better than my French so not really a complaint !...

Hidden away off the main street is this little gem food great service a little bit on the slow side but there was only one guy serving. The courtyard setting was very pretty and as the sun went down the candle lit tables locked great. Well worth a visit

The courtyard restaurant is attractive and you must go through this to arrive at the tiny check-in desk. We came for the annual jazz festival and this very centrally located little hotel was just right. Houlgate is small in itself but it isn't full of hotels right in town and so this is a good location. Only downside no parking...

The cleaning lady stole 90 Euros from my 14 year old! Do not go - not worth getting robbed. My 14 year old had kept a bag of her Euros in a pocket in her suitcase as she did not want to take to beach AND we were leaving to spend time in Paris after a few days in Houlgate....

Small hotel with small rooms but clean and well cared for. The hotel is family run and the family are very helpful and friendly. It is located just off the main road and one block from the seafront - miles of golden sand. The hotel is very french, and has a superb restaurant which has an extensive menu that is...
