Great location in the port. Sea view rooms have a stunning view over the marina and the castle, road view rooms not so special. All the restaurants, plages etc are within a couple of minutes walk. Breakfast is great, in a buffet format available to non residents on a big sunny terrace. Some of the rooms are tired and need renovating, others are good. Staff are friendly and helpful. Its about 100 per night for a room with a sea view in mid season and that view is worth every cent. Bed was comfortable. A good budget option

I was pretty disappointed in this hotel, I wish we would have spent more $ to stay at one of the nicer hotels! There is no lobby, no amenities, no elevator. Only thing is the location is pretty good right in the center of town—but that being said, Cassis is so small that honestly you can stay anywhere and walk ten minutes. The room was very loud at night and the bed was very uncomfortable. The staff was nice and friendly but not very helpful- wouldn’t set up a taxi for us, and didn’t even show us to our room. The room was also not very clean.

This is by far the best location if you're staying in Cassis; rather than being right at the centre, the property sits just a couple of hundred metres along the waterfront, providing great views and added tranquillity. Be sure to pay the small premium for a room facing the port, it's well worth it so you can watch the boats coming and going below. Rooms are basic - and in some respects rather tired - but well-priced considering the hotel's unique situation. The buffet lunch is good value, the breakfast less so (and avoid the over-priced waterfront cafes too; you're better buying a croissant at the excellent boulangerie on Avenue Victor Hugo and eating it with a coffee at The Chai Cassidain round the corner - see separate review). To fantastic receptionists Miriam and Sarah, we just wanted to say a huge 'thank you' for your fantastic hospitality. We loved our visit last year, but this year's was even better, mainly down to the two of you. The gift of the rosé on my friend's birthday, and your kindness in giving up your parking space for us are just two examples among many. We felt so 'at home' and welcome... and you are also great fun! Your care for us - and for your other customers too, I could see - was second-to-none, and we can't wait to come again next year. See you then!

We booked 3 rooms with a sea view. Before arrival there was a problem with my credit card and booking.com informed me that hotel needs a new credtit card details to quarantee the reservation. I modified my credit card details after 10minutes. When I arrived to the hotel receptionist told me there was a problem with my credit card and we received only 2 rooms with a sea view and one on the other site of the building. When did I ask why they changed my reservation, lady from the reception told me that: YOU SHOULD BE HAPPY BECAUSE I COULD CANCELL THE RESERVATION, SHALL I CANCELL THE RESERVATION NOW? Reception staff should create a special atmosphere in the hotel. Unfortunately not in this place.

Visited Cassis and wanted to stay at this lovely location hotel, Le Golfe the next time we visited Cassis. Got home and made a booking direct to their web site. This was booked 6 weeks before our visit. On arrival , just after 15.00 they said they did not have our booking. While checking for the booking on email I noted a cancellation email was sent that morning around 10.30am. I hadn't requested the cancellation and the Hotel said I must have done it. Anyway, our booking for Sea View rooms was not present but they offered a back room facing the town. We were dropped ! Was very upset and booked another Hotel in Cassis that was acceptable. I can't help that as a UK based tourist we were dropped in favour of a French visitor. Anyway, I will not send a good comment about this Hotel , Le Golfe in Cassis ! All the Hotels I've stayed at , in 30 years , this has never happened ! Cassis is lovely and is full of great places, a pity Le Golf Hotel isn't one of them !
