A group of 9 cyclists stayed here for a holiday in Alpe d'Huez. The hotel is basic, but spotlessly clean and with all the facilities you need. Owners are fantastically helpful and couldn't do more to make our stay pleasant, going well beyond what we hoped for. Breakfast was great and served when we wished (we went at a very... More

We stayed here for the second time in three years for La Marmotte. As always the owners and staff were super friendly and welcoming. The rooms are simple, reasonably comfortable if not lacking a little in size but offer fantastic views. Breakfast is simple but adequate. Overall a lovely relaxed vibe, English speaking in the perfect location at the top... More

I stayed here for the Marmotte weekend at Alpe d'Huez and having stayed in some broom cupboard style apartments in the past I was expecting something very basic. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were all extremely friendly and ready to help if required and the hotel itself is very clean, with roomy comfortable rooms that are well equipped. Special... More

I have to state first that I did not stay in the hotel but spent many nights in the Underground bar during our week in resort. The bar was great with a good atmosphere and the staff were very friendly, however they had a band playing one night called the Harper Brothers who are an English band that perform mainly... More

My experience at Hotel le Chamois was such a good one I felt compelled to write my first review ever on trip advisor. First and fore most the best thing has to be the team that run it, extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was to a lot higher standard than I expected from room, showers... We stayed here for New Year 2013-14 as a party of 3 families because our son and one of the other families' daughter were seasonnaires running a nearby chalet. Didn't know quite what to expect because we usually stay in chalets, but this was the only place we could find at last minute to accommodate 13. It suited us very... More

Stayed for a week from the 29th July, made very welcome on arrival. Gareth and Catherine are great hosts. Home cooked food was excellent and all staff friendly. The hotel is rustic but it is what it is and it is spotlessly clean. I was on a cycling holiday and the guys got up to prepare breakfast at 5am on... More

Just back from a week's stay at Le Chamois - went there last year too - and once again it was a wonderful holiday. Gareth and Catherine, the owners, seem to attract great staff who are always polite and ready to provide positive help when needed. I left a coat on the transfer coach and Fiona, one of the managers,... More

Rooms are very poor quality, small in size and haven't been refurbed in a long time. Bathrooms are very old. On the plus side the rooms are clean. Bar downstairs plays music late into the night - very noisy. The chap who mans the reception is very helpful, in fact all staff were very helpful. But it feels more like... More

I stayed for about a week in an ensuite room.. It was spacious, clean and had a small balcony The food was great...
