I have not ever stayed anywhere with so many human hairs as this place. The fact that the rooms have to be cleaned by the previous occupants makes for a rather unpleasant experience. If, like us. you have to leave at 6-45am, having cooked breakfast, I can't imagine the cleaning is going to be very thorough. They need to get a...

This is basic level three star in an older block. If you are looking for high levels of comfort/luxury this is not going to meet your expectations. On the other hand if you are looking for a roof over your head in a good location at a low price, with a shop, ski hire, and a few restaurants within a...

After reading the reviews we were a little nervous about staying here, but we actually found it quite pleasant. The rooms are VERY small, and don't forget to make a note upon reservation if you are a couple and would like a double bed (instead of 2 twin beds). Even then, we found the rooms to be quite clean and...

Been here for the last 3 years but this year was the worst and last. On arrival I found my advance party had to pay a extra 40 euros just to use my credit card, I also booked a 4 person comforte studio instead they palmed me off with a 3 person, expecting people in their late 40s to sleep...

Despite reading some negative reviews Le Chamois d'or proved to be exactly as expected. A small ski apartment in a fantastic ski in ski out location. The apartment was clean and pretty well equipped. Check in at 4.30 pm on the first Saturday of half term was a bit chaotic but the reception is small and there was no room...

Check in is a scrum. Two people trying to check in a coach load of people, maybe two coaches in a small area, after a 4 hour transfer ( if you're lucky) this isn't a good start. Once you get to your room, don't expect too much. I'm talking about space. We booked a room for 2-6 people (we are...

When we arrived there was a big queue of guests trying to book in which took some time, not ideal after a long journey! We were given bed linen (make your own beds) and we trundled off to our room. We had a studio C room which is meant to sleep 4 but was a squeeze with three. The bunk...

a number of reasons why this is the worst hotel on the planet: -rooms and the rest of the hotel are filthy (read: disgusting) - staff is very unfriendly (read: rude) - interior is beyond dated - WiFi signal is weak (read: useless) - they make you clean the apartment and don't clean it themselves (read: disgusting place) conclusion: don't...

Stayed two nights. Interior is out dated. Reception extremely rude. Wifi only works in the lobby. Don't think they actually clean the rooms themselves as they have you vacuume the place and clean it. We had a room for 4 but was extremely small. Only positive is being able to go straight onto the piste.

visited Val Thorens 2nd year running as skiing is great here, we normally stay in a hotel but decided to go self catering as plenty of restaurants in the village. stayed at Le Chamois d'Or as ski in and out. staff were pleasant enough although didn't have a lot to do with them! rooms were adequate for self catering but...
