I wanted the get away on a solo vacay that involved Adventure and relaxation. I wanted to be active and have fun a chill. Surf with amigas fulfilled all of these goals! Great instructors - not competitive environment at all which I wanted. Great yoga and great adventure. The resort was very nice- not fancy but clean and nice and... More

If you’re considering booking a retreat with Surf with Amigas, do it!! This trip was so incredible! Every part of it! First of all, I was the least experienced with surfing and the coaches and the amazing girls I met were so helpful and encouraging! There’s coaching in the water, coaching on land and videos to review after each surf... More

Trip: Nicaragua Magnific Rock October 1st/8th 2016 I typically do not write reviews or am much of social media person, however I felt "Surf with Amigas" more than deserved an excellent review! This is my second trip with "Surf with Amigas" and I honestly did not think a vacation could have been any better than my last trip with them... More

You're reading this review wondering if you should book, right? Undoubtedly, you should! You're questioning your age, your surf skills, and your apprehension to composting toilets perhaps? Well, the Surf with Amigas and Coco Loco experience does not disappoint. When you find yourself after second breakfast forgetting what day of the week it is, and you're wondering how many days... Surf with Amigas in Northern Nicaragua was an incredible experience. i went on this trip with my mom and one of my girlfriends, but i made plenty of new friends too. I have been on all types of trips but this one has stabbed its place at the top. Easily #1. I went alone and immediately felt the great energy and friendliness of the surf instructors. They are there to make sure you improve your surf experience but also to have fun at the same time. Even though it was only... More

I went on a Costa Rica retreat and had previously done a Nicaragua retreat. The surf was a lot of fun. The instructors were fun and insured we caught a lot of waves. The water is super warm. The instructors were very laid back in that you didn't have to surf.... I actually went on a bike ride and explored... More

I did two Surf With Amigas retreats in 2015, both in Nicaragua. They were both fantastic. The instructors work very hard to make sure you learn, feel safe, and push yourself to the limit you're comfortable with. The food is also authentic and delicious. There is a reason everyone is obsessed with second breakfast--my favorite meal of the day! There... More

This week was so amazing for so many reasons - one of the best weeks of my life! It was the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation. This was a great experience for myself as a first time surfer. I had no idea I would love it so much. The instructors were awesome! I loved the challenge of surfing along... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Surf With Amigas is Nicaragua's only women's surf and yoga retreat where women can come together as group of amigas and learn to surf or improve their surfing under the guidance of a professional surfer, namely Holly Beck. Holly was on the world tour for years until deciding a few years ago that she wanted to settle down in Nicaragua and share the surf stoke with other amigas. Along with her amazing staff and awesome beachfront resort in northern Nicaragua, Holly has created a unique experience that many women have called the best of their lives. What sets Surf With Amigas apart from other women's surf retreats you might encounter? 1) Holly's surf-coaching, both in the water and with daily video-captured sessions and slow motion analysis of all your waves; 2)the uncrowded waves of northern Nicaragua- we have spots to ourselves unlike southern Nica; 3) our beachfront resort is awesome! Come find out for yourself! ... more   less

“eco-lodging: minimal lighting & water pressure, composting toilets. Larger cabana (with largest porch): 3 beds instead of 2; that's where I stayed. Fans add noise. Camped 2 nights in elevated yoga studio with cooler breeze, especially early morning--a pleasant change.”
