I am begrudgingly writing this review, as I would love to keep this gem a secret, in order to keep this to myself. We were welcomed by Kiloran, then left to our own devices for our 5 night stay in Granary Cottage over Christmas 2016. The house is well presented with - private parking, a comfortable living room with a...

I stayed at the Granary for a wonderful week of much needed r&r.....it was perfect. Kiloran is a charming and warm hostess and has thought of all your needs in the barn. It is beautifully decorated, charming and cosy with a lovely terrace accessed from the French doors of the sitting room, or from the outside of the barn. The...

This place is magical, from the furnishings, to the food and garden!! Everything was thought of along with great directions to everywhere! The fridge was stocked with fresh eggs, bread and milk! We stayed in The Granary and it had its on private patio. I mean anything you possibly need was provided. From flashlights to umbrellas. The best stocked kitchen...

We arrived to a warm welcome from Kiloran and her two Labradors. Things we liked at Wren House: Beautiful well kept gardens, pretty exterior. Nice crisp bed linens. Ideally placed for Stow on the wold. However...we did not feel that the room represented good value for money(£120 per night) because the room was not ensuite and a few other pointers....

We stayed in the Honeysuckle Room which had a lovely view over the garden . The bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet and although not ensuite that didn't...

We stayed for a few days at the Wren house at the end of May/16. Donnington was great base for exploring different villages in the Cotswolds. Kiloran made us feel very welcome, she is a great host, immaculate clean property, beautiful gardens and lovely views from bedroom and bathroom. It was lovely to wake up to a beautifully home cooked...

It was a great pleasure to have you to stay. Apologies for the problems with the wifi. I have since discovered that the booster round the house had been unplugged for hovering ..... SO sorry. Will be even better when I get cabled internet in about 6 months and we are promised amazing download and upload speeds. Wonderful.

We stayed at The Granary, the self-catering cottage in the grounds of Wren House Bed and Breakfast, for two weeks at the end of September and it was perfect - just what we had been hoping for. The cottage itself is charming - a converted 18th century stone farm building, charmingly designed and decorated with style and comfort by Kiloran...

I see I did not respond to this as I was then away myself. Thank you for such lovely comments. Looking forward to your return. Very glad to hear that my Cotswold off-the-beaten-track routes work so well.

We stayed in The Granary self-serving cottage at Wren House for 4 nights at the beginning of October. The cottage was everything we hoped for and more, with every modern convenience, but still lots of character. Kiloran has compiled a comprehensive information package, which we found very useful. The location in the village of Donnington is quiet and peaceful, yet...

Thank you for such lovely comments and what a shame you were not able to stay longer. But, as you said, you left the toiletries behind for when you come back! Hope to see you again soon.

This review is more specifically of The Granary; Kiloran's self-contained cottage next to Wren House B&B. This is truly a special place, and Kiloran a great hostess. The Granary is a beautiful 2 floor cottage in a fantastic location; very quiet, and close to many Cotswold attractions. Very neat, clean and beautifully decorated. Lots of pleasant walks are close by....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Wren House Bed and Breakfast is a charming 15th-century house in the small and peaceful hamlet of Donnington barely two miles from Stow-on-the-Wold. There are three double bedrooms and three dedicated bathrooms, one en suite, each with large and very comfortable (everyone says so!) kingsize beds and feather duvets. This is the private home of Mrs. Kiloran McGrigor and her two yellow Labradors opened up to staying guests. It has a beautiful south-facing garden, and all rooms overlook it, in which guests are invited to sit and, if fine, breakfast is served al fresco. Breakfasts are sumptuous affairs - lots of fruit, cereals, juice and yoghurt and full cooked breakfast if guests wish. Conversation round one table can be entertaining and stimulating. Next to Wren House is a self-catering cottage for two under the same ownership. Guests at the cottage can enjoy all day access and their own secluded garden so this works best for longer stays. ... more   less
