Spectacular building with plenty of history. Staff on reception very friendly and up for a laugh not something I expected for a building as grand as this, not snooty at all. The room was clean, with plenty of hanging and drawer space. The furniture was as we expected in line with this building as they are renovating it back to...

Really nice setting for a special occasion, lovely sandwiches served with afternoon tea, full after them let alone a 3 tier of cakes, been before and they change the types of cakes etc, this time a bit too much cream based offerings, would have preferred more cake, but still really good. And the waitress is so helpful and caring :)

Nice hotel in a lovely setting we had a two night stay first one as a gift. Booked the second night to be able to visit area and nearby Beamish Museum. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The only slight downside of stay were the evening meals, very average.

Recently visited this hotel for a wedding. The building is gorgeous, decor is very suited to the age of the building. Staff were great, very helpful, very professional and friendly. An out of this world location for what they offer. Only down side was our room. It was very small. It was okay for 1 night but any longer would...

We had a really good time visiting this hotel. Reason was we went to see Beamish and were glad we chose this Hotel. Reasonably priced for the star and quality of building etc. Rooms are very spaced out and fit the scenery very well with it being a 'Hall' Hotel...some furniture could be repaired like one chair arm was a...

Visited here as a party of five for afternoon tea and it's possibly the best one I've had. The portions are huge. Normally you get tiny sandwiches and bite size cakes, but not here. The presentation was very good too. The only negative was that we only got one top up for our tea and coffee. Other than that very...

A beautiful place with attractive grounds, BUT....The only meal you can have in the hotel is breakfast, for all other meals you must go outside to the stables bar. Also there was no open bar in the hotel, nor were there any lit fires anywhere. The rooms as was the rest of the hotel were spotless, never been anywhere cleaner....
