Major upsides include a terrific location in old town, just across the street from the train station. Also, radiant heat in the bathroom is bliss.

No, Suzy, there isn't. Use the public park garage just behind the hotel. It'll cost you 14 Euro per day max. I suggest that you leave your car there and use the free bus tickets to get around the area which is included in the 2 Euro package you pay p.p. and day at the reception. You will hardly find a free parking space in Konstanz. It is a border town and the Swiss take advantage of the recent exchange rate which is extremely favourable for them. Besides, Konstanz is relatively small and spectacular enough to cover it walking. And all bus lines stop across the hotel.
