The staff was very friendly, but rooms are updated,we got the room,in which was cold..Yes,they repeared the heating battery, but we had to spend time in room, which was cold..So,in December it's not, what you expected. The dinner was basic, nothing exceptional.Breakfest was good.

Excellent staff. Excellent food. It's a little way out of town, which can be nice. The room was wonderful, although without elevator. Also turned out to be a great place to watch a soccer game. We'd easily stay again.

We stayed here for 1 night during a road trip across Germany and we fell in love as soon as we arrived in Oberstdorf, one night wasn't enough for us. The hotel is in a beautiful setting, down a little dirt track and surrounded by hills and mountains. It is absolutely beautiful. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming....

Dear Guests, thank you so much for your lovely review. We are very glad that you enjoyed your stay – even it was one night only. You are right, it´s a family business and we do enjoy to have our meals together as we think, a good atmosphere between the stuff is also connected to the whole atmosphere in the...

Birgsauer Hof is at the end of a road, so you have to have a purpose for being in this area; you wouldn't just stumble upon it. A colleague suggested this hotel, and took advantage of a three-night "spring awakening" package, which included half-board, as well as an all-day bicycle rental or a 30 minute body scrub. We chose a...

My husband and I spent a long weekend at the Birgsauer Hof in late summer and could not have been more pleased. We enjoyed the hotel, the setting and the food - both at breakfast and dinner. The spa area was quite pleasant after a day of hiking and the feeling of peace was rejuvenating, as well. We are returning...

We stayed here for a week at the end of June 2014. The hotel is in a beautiful valley about 6 miles from Oberstdorf. It is a family run hotel and we received a warm welcome. Our room was spotlessly clean with a spacious shower room and a nice balcony looking out towards the mountains. It was a very large...

My wife and I stayed here in late May 2014, unfortunately for only one night. The room we stayed in, #20, was on the third floor facing south up the valley towards the Alps - absolutely stunning view. The room was large, with a large bed under a sky light, and a separate sitting area. The bathroom had a shower...

This was a special visit as I was returning to the hotel after having worked here as a "zimmermadchen" (maid) for 3 months in 1989. It is run by Martina and her husband; Martina is the daughter of the original owners. I'm very happy that I returned after 24 years. The place has expanded but still retains its rustic, family...

“- While most of the staff speak English, it is still primarily a German speaking hotel (e.g. No English translations on the menu) - Wonderful base for hiking in one of the most picturesque valleys. There is a bus to Obersdorf (approx 10km away) however, having a car is more convenient. - Obersdorf is a pleasant town with a large pedestrian area with lots of cafes/restaurants and stores specializing in hiking gear. - On the Nebelhorn, as with any mountain, the temperature can be quite a bit cooler at the top so you are best to wear layers.”
