We spent one night here while visiting family. This is a very beautiful, traditionally decorated hotel and restaurant. The room was modern and comfortable. We had dinner in the outdoor dining area, the food was excellent. Breakfast was in the dining room, good, standard European fare. 108 Euro.

On our way to the Heidelberg, we spent one night in the Hotel Karpfen. We had a nice room under the roof. I loved the antique architecture and furnishing of this place that has been in the hands of the same family since generations. The atmosphere is welcoming, dinner was excellent and breakfast as well. One of the best price/service...

This 3 star hotel is much nicer than the 4star across the street. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was nicely decorated but most importantly had great sheets. The breakfast was excellent n they made proper tea as well. Bicycle touring and they provided a safe place for the bikes.

We stayed at this most beautiful hotel without making any reservation. They even did not ask about my name or passport when we arrived, so I knew instantly that this was a trustworthy hotel. We had two beautiful rooms for two nights and the breakfast was excellent. When we left the hotel my wife forgot her shawl in the room....

We didn't stay overnight, we only had dinner. The menue offers a great choice. I had a trout with chanterelles and a gratin and I loved it very much. My company was also bery happy with what they got. The ambience is fantastic though we sat outsides due to the warm summer evening. The only downer was the waitress who...

This hotel has a great atmosphere. If you are used to the large chains, this is not it, but for the area it accommodates every need and is extremely clean. There is an included freshly prepared breakfast every morning and a restaurant that is open for dinners. Only notes include the restaurant is not open on Tuesday night's and they...

Stayed for one night during a bike trip from Heilbronn to Heidelberg. Beautiful hotel...facade is lovely with paintings! I had asked for a large double overlooking the square. We ended up with, what I believe, is the largest (or certainly one of the largest) room in the hotel. Room 51. The room was just beautiful with curtains at the head...

We stayed at the Hotel Karpfen during our cycling holiday in the Neckar Valley. Lovely old hotel, stunning frontage with beautiful paintings and situated in a charming square. we were made to feel very welcome, and our bikes were housed safely in a nearby garage overnight. Free wifi was a godsend, why can't more hotels do this? Lovely comfy room...

“Rooms on the front are bigger and more expensive. They have a great view of the square. There are floodlights that shine on the windows at night. The curtains take care of it though. The smaller rooms at the back are fine with rooftop views of the Old Town and the hillside to the west. They are nice, just smaller. For a single, they are more than adequate.”
