The hotel was lovely to cosy up in after a cold day out. Food good. Room excellent . Staff friendly and helpful. Memmingen was a very interesting Bavarian town and s good place to commute from. Train accessible to Munich, Zurich and many others. We went to Lake Constance for a day.

In general Memmingen is not a city known for gourmet restaurants. However the Engelkeller has really a problem to produce nice and tasty food in their kitchen : The salad was swimming in vinegar, the bacon was totally over-salted and the fresh chanterelle had no taste. I could now continue with the other plates I had but it was so... More

Met up with some friends for the weekend. Picked it somewhat randomly and we were all pleasantly surprised. Easy and plenty parking, friendly staff. Comfortable rooms. Easy walk downtown. The highlights were definitively the garden in the back where we lounged a lot and had a beer or two. Shopping is a short walk away and while not the big... More

Stopped here a few times for both business and leisure, comfortable and spotlessly clean, staff are so helpful and friendly, restaurant and bar are pleasant, and breakfast is good (continental) Beds are very comfortable, and hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from the beautiful town centre and a selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Hotel is situated on... More

Stayed there just one night as we were getting an early flight from Memmingen airport the next day. Booked a double room with a travel cot (for an extra €18 EUR per night). Just a stone's through from the West gate and then on into the centre, so very much central without being in the pedestrianised area. Comfortable room, modern... More

I was there overnight for a business trip. Hotel facilities were very good, staff were very attentive and the food!!! was amazing. Our hosts treated the committee to a traditional Bavarian meal, which was excellent. A great choice of dishes. I only eat fish, and there was plenty of choice (incl. fish) to fill me up. I cant comment on... More

I have been in the Engelkeller for a week on a business trip and liked the atmosphere and the very friendly service. It can be a bit noisy in late hours due to church bells but that's no fault of the hotel. Great breakfast and I will try the awarded restaurant coming week as well.

We caught the 11.20am train from Folkestone to Calais and arrived at the hotel at 9PM. The hotel is in the centre of town and was easy to find and we parked the car right outside the hotel in the street. The restaurant was closed but they still arranged a superb Wiener Schnitzel dinner for the two of us in... More

Recently stayed here for 1 night, we had a very friendly welcome at reception & this attitude contined throughout our stay. Room was smart, clean & adequate, the beds were comfortable, (pillows less so for me, not a problem for other half). We ate in the restaurant & had a very good meal with a good selection of local beers.... More
