We had a 4-nights stay at this hotel and it was really great: big room, well equipped, but what we liked most was the location (ideally located in the park of the castle) and the house, very stylish. Good breakfast in a nice "dining" room, maybe a bit narrow when all rooms are taken. I can highly recommend this hotel.

The location is superb, overlooking the good preserved medieval town with all the red roofs. The owner and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. We got great advices what to do and how. The breakfast was great and plentiful, we liked the buns with the grain seeds. Quiet place and in walking distance of the centre of the town...

Lovely comfortable spacious room, excellent location close to town centre and castle, good generous breakfast, beautiful dogs, friendly hospitable hosts. Very minor quibbles - no tea or coffee making facilities so have to wait until 7.30am which is late for early risers. Would be good to have a shower cap and washer in the bathroom.

The hotel is very clean, our room was large and the breakfast good. The owner and staff are very friendly and very helpful. The approach to the hotel can be a little tricky if you are on a motorcycle (as we were) but take it wide and steady and you should be OK. A great place in a good location...

Very comfortable, excellently located for restaurants, Wernigerode Castle, the Harz Mountains Railway and the Harz Mountains in general and very easy to get to the autobahn for journeys further afield. See my Colditz Caste and Dora Mittelbau reviews... Incredibly nice and helpful hosts, for whom nothing was too much trouble - information on places to eat, the loan of a...

Exelent family suite with spectacular views of the city and mountains. Nice breakfast and friendly staff. Bad points: The hotels resturant only serves "helthy" foods and boring kids meals. The rooms not located in the main house seemed quite poor and not at place that i would recomend.

Let me first agreee that the Schlossberg is in an excellent location and that the restaurant serves excellent food (we were able to eat outside on the terrace). We stayed in what they call the Fursten Grotte which is the annexe housing the restaurant and which has about 6 rooms. Our room was large, light, modern and beautifully well-appointed, and...

This hotel - which is 4* - is an older building a short walk outside the main town on a hill below the castle. Our room was not too large but was comfortable with a good bathroom and a wonderful view over the Harz mountains. The staff were courteous and helpful. There is an associated small restaurant with good food...
