Initial situation: We visited Leukerbad under COVID-19 lockdown regulations: All restaurants are closed, to visit the "Leukerbad Therme" spa, you have to book a 2 or 3 hour session per day in advance. To break the COVID routine a bit, my wife and I booked ourselves into the Hotel Römerhof in Leukerbad for 4 days/3 nights during Easter week. As mentioned in the title, the location is just great for guests arriving by public transportation and wanting to use the "Leukerbad Therme" spa: It is 3 minutes from the bus to the hotel and to the thermal baths, another 3 minutes on foot and a grocery store is accessible in the same complex. The lady at the reception gave us a friendly welcome: Breakfast is until 10:00 and dinner in the hotel's own restaurant until 20:30 (The restaurant must be closed at 21:00). Our room (#27) is facing the street, has a balcony (morning / noon sun) and what you can see right away, it is very spacious! The inventory is not exactly "art-deco" but functional. Everything can be stowed away. The most important in any hotel room - The Bed - has passed the test. The mattress is rather on the 'hard' side which really suits our sleeping needs. The toilet is functional and there is enough space here as well. The shower works with nice hot water, hairdryer, shampoo, and enough towels are also available. Although we had a family with children as neighbours, you only noticed them when they were in the hallway, otherwise the room was very quiet. What I personally miss is in addition to the TV, a small refrigerator and in COVID times almost more important: A Kettler for water boiling to prepare tea, coffee or other small snacks. The term "functional" can also be used for breakfast room and the breakfast buffet: It has something for everyone (cheese, ham, salami, juices, cornflakes, jam, croissant and various fresh breads) and the machine prepares a really good coffee. What I miss are the regional air-dried meat products (I come from the region), which are certainly a bit more expensive but would just make the difference to just “functional”. All in all, I find the Hotel Römerhof - you can guess – Yes! “functional” :-D - with a good value for money.

My second time at this hotel. this time we stayed with family and friends for a snow holiday during New Years holiday. The hotel is simple but cozy, rooms have confortable beds, nice bathrooms and great service. The hotel restaurant is top with fantastic food and great staff offering excellent service always with a smile. Excellent experience in a well runned hotel.

Hotel is very conveniently located next to the bus stop. Besides this I unfortunately do not have anything positive to say about the hotel. The stained carpets and very old furniture put me off. For the price I paid - it was not worth it. Much better hotels available in Leukerbad.

Great location, one minute walk to the bus stop and four minutes to the Leukerbad Therme. This is very local and family style hotel, no reception and all lights are turned off when you arrived late, highly suggest you check-in earlier!!!!! We have arranged a new renovated room, breakfast and staffs are quite nice.

Such a shame, because the hotel is perfectly located next to the bus station and very close to the spa center and cable car. However, upon entering the room, the first thing one sees is an irreparably stained carpet, with different shade of red traces of what looks like wine and blood. The bathroom is embarrassing - behind a squeaky door is a cracked sink, a chipped mirror, a shower "cabin" that gets clogged after two minutes and retains water, forcing you out of the shower in no more than 5 minutes, and no trash bin (?!). The furniture is a mix of medieval carpentry and gold plastic bedside lamps, one of which is not even working, rendering the room dim and depressing (if the carpet wasn't doing that already). Given all of the above, it is not surprising that the room has a strange unidentifiable smell that is difficult to tolerate for long. Charging 150 Swiss Francs per night, the management of this hotel should really be ashamed of the service they are providing.

check-in may have been uncomplicated and fast (due to booking.com reservation no doubt), but the disapointment was hard to bear! simples: yes clean: yes new: yes old: yes! how? why??? one room was new and modern, simple and just what we were expecting. the other room (for our 3 children) was *!&!!* i mean seriously??!!! and way more expensive too. bathroom was embarrassing!! so ... stay somewhere else!

The hotel is extremely well located, close to the bus station, to the main termal baths and to the center of the village. Only part of the rooms have been renewed, but they are all very clean and pleasant, most with a great balcony towards the sunny side of the mountains. The buffet breakfast is abundant, varied, Swiss, in one word, delicious! Only problem, if you check-in in the early afternoon, you are told that your guest card - that grants discounts for the termal baths and for other facilities such as the Sport Arena - will be delivered to you later on, which is once you are already out exploring. The private parking lot is conveniently located behind the hotel, allowing easy uncharging and charging of luggage. And if you like Italian food and grilled meat, you are at the right place since those are the specialties of the restaurant attached to the hotel, and where you can also find live music during certain times of the day.

We stayed in the hotel as a group of people. Staff is very helpful and friendly. There was one menue included in the stay: it was delicious. The rooms are nice and clean. We had a room with balcony and view of the mountains. The hotel is not very near the torent station but exactly next to the bus station.
