Stayed with a group for three nights and the hotel was really closed, but they wanted our money. The food was disgusting and the restaurant was not open on the second day. The bar closed at 7pm on our last night, thank goodness there was a supermarket next door.

This is a large hotel in the centre of the village and within easy walking distance of the rail station. We visited as part of a large group and were unfortunate to stay shortly after the hotel had closed for the period in between seasons - not the hotels fault but some poor planning by our tour company! We were...

We arrived as part of a large group just before dinner time to find that we were the on,y guests, and subsequently discovered that the hotel was actually closed for the season. Our room was huge, although there was a large beam which meant ducking when you got out of bed. As the hotel had opened just for our party...

A most charming and comfortable hotel-restaurant where quality and friendly service are offered in a stunning location. This is why we have returned, every year, for the past twelve years. Shhhh, this is a secret!

We travelled as a couple as part of a large group, spending three nights here. Our room was large, but rather spartan. It opened onto a flat rooftop terrace, which you can step out onto. But this was a communal area and we soon learned to keep our french doors closed, because when we tried to freshen the air in...

We stayed at the hotel on 3rd September booking a family suite for 2 adults and 2 children. Room comprised two separate sleeping areas with a bunk bed in one room and double in the other. The hotel is centrally situated in Kandersteg to walk around the village and not far from the train station and cable car to Oeschinen...

We decided to stay in Kandersteg for a night before taking the car train to Valais. It was drizzling but the town still looked lovely and the views from the bedroom were superb. The rooms are very well appointed with balcony and all conveniences yet the hotel retains its charm from its decades before. There is a restaurant in the...

The appealing character about this hotel is just that, it has a history and character. This is not to say it hasn't moved with the times but there are elements which suggest the management has decided to keep items such as the beautiful chandeliers which dominate the ornate dining room. We had a room with a stunning view of the...
