I contacted Darwin Lake for VERY last minute availability as we were unable to go to our booked location due to a family emergency. Sally got back to me promptly and offered Wensley,a three bedroomed property with two double rooms & one twin, all with en-suites,and furnished to a high standard. We generally holiday in this country & always self catering...

We stayed in the Hassop, which had 4 double /twin and a single bedroom. 3 double /twin rooms had ensuite and there was a further bathroom with shower. We were 3 couples, an 8 month old and one adult and having our own bathrooms and spacious bedrooms was amazing. Living room and kitchen area were great - large dishwasher, all...

We booked a room via FitFarms' arrangement with Darwin Lake Cottages, as I was on a one-week FitFarms weight-reduction course whilst my wife and our infant son were enjoying the attractions of Matlock and the Peak District. My son loved the animals at Matlock Farm Park which is just down Jaggers Lane from the cottages, and also the Matlock Aquarium....

We booked the Chesterfield house for the Easter weekend. We had a great time. The cottage was beautiful, clean and spacious. We would definitely go again. The living room had plenty of seating for all of us. We were a party of 7. It had patio doors out onto the grassy garden where there was a picnic bench. The large...

A large family group of us visited Darwin Lakes in October, for a long weekend, we had 6 cottages. All cottages were tastefully decorated, warm, well furnished and comfortable. Before visiting I was a little concerned that there may not be enough space in the cottages for 26 of us to congregate in the evenings, however this concern was unfounded...

I go to Darwin lakes sporadically with friends. It's a great place to get away to, easy access by both road and rail, and as you'd expect - gives you the facilities required to make your own holiday within the beautiful surroundings.

Myself, parents and bridesmaids stayed here and found the house very comfortable, clean and would happily live here! The rooms are all a great size. My daughter loved watching the ducks out the window.

Friends recently rented the accommodation at Darwin Lakes for their wedding. It was very much a DIY affair and as one of the Bridesmaids I was in the 'Preparation Team'. We spent a week in total at Darwin Lakes. Despite the manual labour involving in arranging decorations etc. it was a wonderful place to spend a week. The manager and...

We have just returned home from a lovely week at Darwin Lake. This was our second visit to Darwin Lake, with our first being in 2010. This small complex of about 16 cottages is located in the middle of Darley Moor, so it's a perfect base for hitting all of the local sites and attractions, but a car is absolutely...

Just returned from a three day break- fantastic peace and serenity. Stayed in Eyam cottage and visited the village of Eyam too. Good accommodation- very clean so close to lake. Loved the Darwin trail and the ducks-especially the moor hen chick who kept losing his Mum. Beautiful surroundings. idyllic for me-wish we could have stayed longer

Thank Sally A
