We were just passing by and checking the Rates. Starting around 85 dollars a doubleroom. They asked us about our "limit" and reduced the rate to 50 dollars. Which was our limit. The reason was like 85usd room includes breakfast. The 50usd room not. Thats a quiet expensive breakfast for Costa rice... We went in an stayed at cabinas Laura...

Hello and thank you for your review. We want just to explain the reason why the staff in reception did give you a different rate. Like most hotels we have different rates depending on type of room and location. We have standard with a/c or fan, in 2 floor or in front of the pool and we have also superior...

On an excursion to northern Costa Rica with a group of people working for reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, we stopped at El Bambu for lunch. I wish I had read the reviews before arriving as I might have taken time to look at the rainforest behind the hotel. Our group didn't stay for the night, but we...

Although there is absolutely nothing to do in Sarapiqui (I mean: .....nothing!), this place is more than ok. The pool is big, an service is just great. Rooms were clean, and be sure to have a room in the new part (room number 38 is the best, all the way in the end - very quiet). The back part of...

Prepare to see sloths hanging around this hotel as well as miniature armadillos, iguanas and birds. The hotel doesn't look like much from the street, but the rooms are at the back in a tropical forest near a stream. It flooded while we were visiting, but the rooms are on stilts, so we were high and dry. Nice restaurant and...

What can I say about Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí other than the small town itself is not exactly the most inspiring place I have ever seen, and certainly not under grey skies and rain showers... But aside from the kaleidoscope of shops, supermarkets, banks, a post office, a pharmacy and some sodas mainly lined up in the main street, there...

The hotel is right in the middle of the lovely town of Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui. It is a good location for a nights stop over. The rooms are okay, very basic. The staff is great and very helpful. I had email in advance to set up a river safari and it was all set to go when we arrived. We...

This was my second overnight at Hotel El Bambu. During both stays I experienced courteous staff and good meals, yet this time my room faced the pool rather than the main road through town. This room was noticeably quieter, had higher ceilings, and was more airy. Further, the bathroom was on the same level as the rest of the accommodations....

i was just out to find a place to eat on xmas eve. This was open, cheap, full of local food, and very welcoming. I was not there to stay the night, i just needed some food. I recommend this place. Also, always use some Lizano, it makes everything better, oh, try the patacones...delicious

This hotel has a nice atmosphere with trees surrounding the property. The rooms are spacious and the pool is nice. The restaurant is also reasonably priced and has a pretty good variety. The only drawback I experienced was that the walls are thin and noise carried.
