La Quinta is an oasis in the lowland rainforest near La Selva Biological Station and the Saraqipui River. The gardens and accommodations are beautiful and the service are truly excellent. I’ve visited many times over the last twelve years and each time a new layer of beauty has been added. Oh, and there is fresh coffee before first light!

The location is great and it promises so much, however the quality of the rooms, bathrooms are basic and the buffet food was terrible - very bland and not very imaginative. I know Costa Rica is not known for its food, but after 10days in the country this was definitely the worst we had. We were also invaded by a...

Great hotel located in the nature. The rooms are dispatched in a garden with covered pathways. Basic but comfortable including a little terrace with hammock. Very clean. Staff is very nice & helpful. Good for bird watchers.

This hotel was beautiful but a bit rustic. We had 2 rooms but one did smell strange which was a bit off putting. The beds were very uncomfortable and hard but the rooms were clean. The gardens were beautiful and there were lots of wildlife to view from tree frogs to birds feeding and a butterfly garden. Breakfasts were ok....

Wonderful place, run by a local family. Simple rooms, clean, well maintained, and surrounded by a beautiful gardens. Good traditional food, and options for the family. A lot of wildlife around. The only down was the noise of trucks for a near road that in on construction, but didn't affect at all our sleep.

Whilst I appreciate that this property is in a perfect area for activities it does need some improvement and investment. The birds and wildlife around the hotel are lovely but the rooms are very basic and as ours did not have any outdoor seating very claustrophobic. We complained about the cleanliness of the bathroom on arrival and the staff were...

The rooms here are dated and could use some sprucing up, but the main attraction here is the natural environment. Outside your room you can watch birds coming into the feeding area, search for frogs at night (or during the day for that matter), visit the butterfly sanctuary, or head to the river to look for owls and other wildlife....

During our two week tour of Costa Rica, we stayed at La Quinta Sarapiqui for 2 nights. The lush grounds are beautiful and added value to our stay. It was a delight to walk on the paths and visit the onsite butterfly pavilion, gardens, frog area and bird feeders. There was no shortage of flora and fauna on the grounds...

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our Collette tour. The lodgings were rustic but adequate. The only main disappointment was the creaky bed. Otherwise the room was dated but did the job - we weren't here to see the room after all. The bird feeding area was delightful - so many different species! We also enjoyed their...
