We stayed at Il Querceto for 5 nights in the studio. It was great to have such a big space to ourselves after a month of travel. Francesca is a warm, friendly and accommodating host. The property is gorgeous - there are horses, chickens, cats, dogs, fields and fields of crops, and walking trails through the hilly property. It is...

We stayed two nights. Francesca was very nice and a great source of information about the local area. Our accomodations were spacious and comfortable. We had two breakfasts and dinners there. The food was excellent and, I assume, typical of local fare. As others have noted, it is located along the foothills of a beautiful valley. There are walking trails...

We capped off our southern Italy adventure with lunch at Il Querceto, in Basilicata, and were only sorry that we couldn't spend several days there. The five-course vegetarian meal came almost entirely from the Il Querceto gardens and was the best food we had in two weeks of Italy--which is saying a lot. The host and owner, Francesca, was friendly...

We lucked onto this farm stay and could only stay one night, wish it was a week. Lovely breakfast, amazing views over the green valley, warm comfy room and our two boys 9 and 7 got to play with kittens! Francesca was a knowledgeable and friendly host. So peaceful to be in the country.

We were at Querceto for the New Year and we had a truly wonderful time! The place is gorgeous, extremely romantic if you are a couple but also ideal if you are travelling with the family: our daughter was running around the (many) gardens, playing with the animals, feeding the ponies, picking herbs. The rooms are beautiful, extremely stylish however...

We stayed here with our family of 5 in the beautifully decorated Dragon suite. This is a great place for mountain walks and relaxing. Nice and naturally healthy breakfast, tasteful local diner with nice local wine on request, wonderful people who can tell you all about the surroundings.

We were there by chance, on the way home of the last two days of our vacation. We chose that place on local guide because of the word "bio", but what we found there was much more: Francesca and Tazio are wonderful people. The delicacy of the place they take care is all around: furniture, flowers, dogs, cats, books, a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Il Querceto is a 35 hectares farm, situated on a hill at the foot of an oak forest. Protected to the north by a high mountain: the Volturino, which comes right down to the stone houses. There, the oak forest gives space to an olive grove, a vineyard, an apple orchard and fields of wheat and corn. To the south is the Agri valley, while to the east is the medieval village of Marsicovetere. You will find here a wild pasture, an underground spring and a magic circle with a large oak tree in the centre. The organic farm is ICEA certified and in recent years it has also been using biodynamic methods. We have horses and poultry and cultivate forage crops in rotation to help the soil fertility. The farm was also called La terra di Nancy and has been running for 20 years to promote the development of eco-friendly initiatives and human development. On this theme we also organise seminars and workshops aimed at achieving well being. We foster the development of organic and biodynamic farming, the maintenance of biodiversity and promote research and testing of energy saving building techniques ... more   less
