Not worth the money. Food took 40 minutes to come to the table. We ordered 2 burgers and a child's fish finger meal. The mash was smash and the burgers were dry. I ordered blue cheese sauce on the side. It looked, smelt and tasted like burnt gravy.

The Boatyard is local to us, we have visited it many times over the years it is in a lovely setting near the canal. It use to be clean, warm and tidy but on the day we visited it had obviously not been cleaned for a while. The tables and carpet were sticky and tables had been left uncleared. Once...

Have been to the pub several times over the last few years for lunch and have always been satisfied with food, service and surroundings. Just been for lunch and could not believe the difference the new management has made. Tables not cleaned properly and not enough cutlery available on the table. Surprised that we could not open a tab at...

Went to The Boatyard for lunch today with my grandma and 16 month old son. As expected at 2pm on a Wednesday, it was very quiet and therefore I'm quite shocked at the poor quality of the service. When we arrived we waited for a good 5 minutes before a member of staff showed their face. I asked for a...

Went for Sunday Lunch on 17/01/2016, to celebrate my Father in Laws 80th Birthday. I should have taken notice of the signs. What used to be a real lively bar and restaurant pub has turned into a quiet place, which needs some TLC, and a good clean. Tables don't appear to be cleaned thoroughly between uses. The place is not...

We stayed for one evening and would not have stayed if I could have found somewhere else. On check I I was literally sticking to the floor on check in. The room whilst being a good size was very disappointing. The shower was covered in black mould and could hardly bring myself to shower there. The cups were dirty had...

On arrival around 7pm the bar an dinning area were very quiet, went to our room which was large and everything you would look for. The bedside tables had glass tops which would slide off and were too far away to reach from bed. Overall the cleanliness of the room was terrible, especially the bathroom, lovely large bath an shower...

There are only 6 Chalets which are detached from the inn itself so rooms are quiet, all of the Chalets lookout towards the canal, good point you can park right outside the chalets. You can also book cruises at the end of the car park. We had an evening meal which we all enjoyed Steak and Ale pie. Full English for...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our canalside location is a winner in the sunshine - sit back and relax with a long, cool drink as you watch the narrowboats float quietly by. And if the weather's not quite so pleasant, we've got loads of room inside with a choice of comfy sofas or dining chairs and tables. With great value food made on-site from locally sourced ingredients, our menu has something for everyone and the quality of our food is superior. Our bar has four beers on hand pump and we've got a great selection of lagers, cider, wines and soft drinks. And there's no rush to drive home after an evening at The Boatyard - why not stay in one of our six recently decorated and well appointed rooms. Then wake up to a hearty breakfast and grab a latte in our coffee shop before leaving. ... more   less
