We have just returned from the Rasa Ria after a weeks stay! It was simply fantastic, in fact faultless! We paid for an upgrade on arrival for an ocean wing suite if you can afford it we would highly recommend it! It has it's own pool and a la carte breakfast at Coast (including prosecco!) We also paid for a... More

We stayed at this property for 8 nights in June and it was amazing. I was after a "forget about everything" relaxing holiday by the pool and Rasa Ria delivered in full. Service was faultless, always with a smile and efficient without being intrusive. The personal service from the staff is nothing short of amazing. We ate at all of... More

When staying in KK your 5-star choice is limited to four serious options. Two Shangri-la's, a Meridien and a Hyatt: two resorts and two city business hotels. Most facilities will be found at the Rasa Ria. Overall a very good resort, but in price and service not the value you would get on Bali, in Thailand ore elsewhere in Malaysia.... More

Great resort, true shangri la style. I was torn between booking here of shangri la tanjung aru but glad ive chosen this one as it has more the Borneo experience feel than tanjung wich looks a bit run down and more like a place to stay for a couple of days. The grounds are very well kept, the food is... More

We have had just had a really brilliant 5 night stay at the Shangri-La Rasa Ria. We stayed in the Ocean Wing which was superb - very comfortable and spacious and the service was excellent! Whilst there is some building work going on to develop a new wing to the Ocean Wing it didn't disturb us at all. We will... More

We stayed 4 ghts in the hotel. We were surprised by its size (450 rooms). The hotel is well designed, we had not the feeling of being part of a mass! Restaurants are good, though quality of service is somewhat uneven. Coast restaurant is not worth the spending. Rooms a little bit small and decoration poor. The beach could not... More

Stayed here after visting the rainforest, for some welcome rest and relaxation. Your name is checked at the security point, so by the time you reach reception, two minutes drive away, someone is waiting to greet you by name, and complete all the checking-in process. Our rooms weren't ready, but we were given access to snacks in the Coffee Lounge... More

We spent 4 nights in this hotel and we could have not been happier. The setting is beautiful, right in front of a wide beach. Perfect for long walks on the shore. Rasa Ria is successful in achieving its status of luxury seaside hotel offering any kind of service you could ask for. Beach loungers, beach and aquatic sports, swimming... More

After travelling around Borneo for 2 weeks, our family including 2 boys aged 6 & 9 really enjoyed our final 4 days at the Rasa Ria. The boys shared a comfy sofa bed in our room, and in the restaurants the kids dinner was either included in the price of ours or there was a separate menu. The breakfast was... More

We stayed in the Garden Wing for five nights in late August with our two children, as the 'relaxation' part of our month long adventure through Borneo. Though the facilities were very good: nice pool, nice beach, good (though absolutely controlling - what's with the head mics??) service and a wonderful opportunity to see the three orphaned orang-utans in the...
