I stayed here recently as part of my 'Contiki' tour and absolutely loved it! Unfortunately we were only here for one night but found the lodge to be very clean and comfy. The views from our room were incredible and we even took the little walk down to the lake for a swim (it was very very cold). The included...

A delightful stay in room overlooking L Ohau up to Mt Cook. Delicious dinner seated with 5 other guests, all very compatible and interesting. Would recommend dinner, bed & breakfast deal. Our meal was choice of wild venison or local salmon served with pumpkin & mandarin mash, dessert generous portion of plum cake, raspberry couli etc

A perfect place for our last night in New Zealand on Saga's New Zealand Contrasts. The Lodge was like being in an opulent Chalet in Switzerland. The bedrooms are delightful and there is no time to miss a TV. We all had rooms facing Lake Ohau with nothing to obstruct our views. A short walk takes you down beside the...

Hi there and thank you for your lovely review. I hope your trip home to the UK wasn't too arduous. As part of the Saga Land of Contrasts tour, it is Saga who provide the farewell drinks, not Lake Ohau Lodge so I'm sorry everyone, free drinks can not be expected!! Yes, we have sandflies when there is dampness in...

We cycled here with the A20 tour for our lunch stop. Beautiful weather and stunning views. The lodge is well set back off the road and is in keeping with its surrounds. We had the lunch platter with all local ingredients. These were explained to us by our hostess. Delicious.

Thanks for writing about the platter, we worked on this for quite a while to get it right and I do think Tom our Head Chef has nailed this.

Our stay was part of our Topdeck tour. Very basic but tidy room. Modern ensuite. Plenty of things to do. Short walk to the lake. Friendly wait staff and excellent meals. Bar was basic but had a great atmosphere. Phone reception not great but quite suitable if looking for an out of the way place.

Thank you for your review. The accommodation wings where Topdeck tours stay, either the outside Huxley wing or the Maitland wing, are sometimes used by school groups or olympic ski teams in winter and they are our more basic rooms, comfortable but simple. I love our gorgeous friendly team too and thank you for making mention of our excellent meals...

Stayed here for one night with a tour group and was blown away by the views. It was such a secluded place, i loved how the lake seemed so untouched. Wifi is super expensive but take the oportunity to unplug and enjoy the scenery.

Yes! I'm blown away by the views and I've lived here for 27 years so I understand!!! Sorry about the wifi but because of our remoteness we have had to put in our own system which is for the Lodge and the guests and we have a limit on the data so charge a small amount $2 for 10MB, $4...

We stayed at Lake Oahu Lodge on our A2O bike trip. The location was stunning, the staff very friendly and the food was great - dinner, breakfast and packed lunch. We had a room in the Upper Temple Wing which had lovely views and was very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay.

I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stay, our lovely staff and our fantastic food. The Upper Temple wing are where our best rooms are and on a beautiful night, to sit out on the balcony and just watch the light on the hills - I want to do it myself!! Thank you for writing.

Lovely location (away from everything), good staff, however I didn't think the rule of 'no bringing your own alcohol on site' is fair. First I've heard this any place I've stayed. Hey, I would return as it's a beautiful location.

Stayed at this location as part of a tour and what a great time we had. First of all..the view is stunning! On a good day you can see Mt Cook in the distance. Go relax in the spa and watch the sun set with the view of the snowy Alps...perfection! Staff are very welcoming and friendly. I recommend getting...

Personally I think that you are very lucky to stay here on your tour. Most go down the main road and stay there but your tour goes off the main drag and brings you to this gorgeous lake!!! I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stay. Thanks so much for writing.
