Just returned from a 3 night stay and after reading all the 5 star reviews on here, I can only agree with all comments. Helen and Phil are lovely warm, kind and friendly people. I think we'll be returning at some time.

Helen and Phil are exceptional Hosts and provide excellent hospitality. Phil met us on arrival and showed us to our comfortable and thoroughly clean rooms. Then provided tea and cake in the comfortable lounge and shared his extensive knowledge of the area. The location is outstanding with views across to Skiddaw and beyond. Breakfast prepared by Helen was excellent and...

We stayed for 2 nights to go walking. Helen and Paul were really welcoming, greeting us with tea and cake on arrival and explaining the room clearly. The house is absolutely spotless, very comfortable and has a nice lounge area for guests. Breakfast is hearty and well cooked. Overall, a very nice couple of days in an ideal walking location.

We stayed at the Hermiston for 2 nights to celebrate our Ruby wedding anniversary. We certainly had a memorable weekend which started when we were met on arrival by Phil, who carried one of our cases to the room. This was followed by a lovely cup of tea and a piece of cake in the lounge supplied by Phil's wife...

Thank you. We're so happy that you enjoyed the Lake District and that we were able to give you a flavour of this stunningly beautiful part of the country. We look forward to welcoming you again, perhaps for a longer stay to explore more of the Lakes.

We enjoyed our stay with Helen and Phil very much. Their warm welcome and kind and caring hospitality made our trip fantastic. The cozy lounge, the view of the garden from our room and the superb homecooked full English breakfast are just a few of the things we loved about our stay. The bathroom was very clean and the location...

Used Hermiston Guest House as a base for a long weekend in the lakes, on a recommendation from my son. Rooms were lovely: comfortable, spotlessly clean and inviting, and the place is run by a very friendly couple who helped us out picking some great places to visit to get some fantastic views during our stay. A hot drink and...
