Lovely warm welcome from staff and log fire. Very busy but promptly attended to. Super beer and cider recommendations. Good range of food at reasonable prices. Loved the little addition of talking table trivia box. Will definitely visit again.

Arrived late Friday with the warmest of welcomes. A cosy open fire awaited with a range of ales, ciders and extensive wine list. Amazing food and hospitality - with all tastes and special diets catered for. Freshly baked bread and a wide choice of both hot and cold options for breakfast couldn't have been better; all served by lovely people...

This rather quirky dog friendly sort of hotel is ideally situated for a visit to the Western lakes, a few miles from Keswick, and near to the Lakes distillery. We were made very welcome and the food in the restaurant was good as was the service.

Despite having been numerous times and had good experiences this was very poor. Firstly we were told that the child's meal would arrive with the starters but didn't arrive for another 20 minutes. The vegan pie that was extremely burnt. We then had another 5 minute wait for the chips. Once we'd finished the main meals we ordered 1 scoop...

We travelled to the hotel as part of a 16 person walking group staying for two nights. Very warmly welcomed and well looked after from the start. Very nice, comfortable rooms, a well stocked bar and an excellent restaurant. The food was very good both at breakfast and in the evening. Lots of choice and a well stocked and sensibly...

Room is quite basic and small, but is very comfortable and spotless. There's a kettle with tea/coffee in the room, and a tiny flat screen TV. Bathroom could do with bringing up to date, but it is very clean, so no worries there. Fabulous views. Free WiFi only works in lounge area. Doesn't work in rooms. The dinner menu had...

Nestled at the north end of Braithwaite, this small hotel has an excellent bar with good real ales and an excellent dinner menu. We sat on the terrace overlooking the hills and then a table in the conservatory. Friendly attentive staff and good wholesome food. Recommended.

Middle Ruddings is a small, friendly hotel. The hotel room is clean and has free tea coffee. It is a dog friendly hotel. The food is amazing, it is all freshly cooked and you order it an advance. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay and if you like your food - go no further!

The food, both breakfast and supper, was plentiful and good. The rooms were clean, and the water, both in the shower and at the sink of the en suite, was hot. As is normal in many small country inns, had few power outlets in the room, but the proprietors went the extra step and provided power strips for guests to...
