Had a short stay at the beginning of November as we are considering retiring to the area. The Inn is in a stunning location with fantastic views and National Trust land to walk on. We had a lovely room in the cottage annexe which was very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were excellent with local produce and very generous portions. The...

A Meal for four friends at lunch time on a Saturday in October. Food was tasty and prompt, staff v pleasant. After long walk up onto the common in a large circle about 3miles. Fish and chips were a highlight, very large fish.

My wife and I booked to stay one Friday. We phoned and asked if a room could accommodate our 14 year old son and we would have our little dog with us. The lady on reception could not have been more helpful and we were told "we are very dog friendly at the amberley " It was explained that no...

We were looking for somewhere to spend a few nights, with our dog, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Found the Amberley Inn on-line and phoned to find out facilities etc. We booked the "premier suite" having been told this was suitable for dogs and was on the ground floor, which it was. We were also told that dogs were not...

Thank-you for your review and several emails. Clearly your experience of The Amberley was very different from nearly all our other reviews which find our staff efficient, courteous and extremely welcoming to our guests and four legged friends. To precis your main complaint was that having enjoyed your dining on your first night stay our staff should have presumed you...

I came here for an evening meal in the restaurant, the waitress was very friendly and helpful and I love that most things on their menu is gluten free! Me and my partner had the rump steak with chips as our main and it was delicious! For dessert we had the gluten free sticky toffee pudding to share and it...

We visited for an evening stay after finding The Amberley Inn online. Booked a Superior Room (Room 2) which had fantastic views down the valley. Room well appointed with excellent bedding & dressing gowns. Bar well stocked and reasonably priced, with a roaring fire in each room. Dinner was equally as excellent, highly recommend the duck salad starter, with desserts...

Being vegetarian, we find eating out to be disappointing at times, however, full marks to the Amberley Inn, for putting on food that was different to the usual dull offerings. The food was delicious, beautifully cooked, well presented and the helpings very generous. The owner really cares about his customers and told us that if we have a specific requirement,...

My wife and I took a trip out for lunch at this hotel/pub having identified that they cater for people who have coeliac disease. My wife cannot eat gluten or dairy and it is difficult to find restaurants that really understand this condition and cater accordingly. The venue was absolutely idyllic, set on a hill outside of Stroud, and we...

We chose the Amberley Inn for nostalgic reasons. We took the last room available which was in a cottage and up two flights of stairs. As I am disabled, this presented a difficulty. As we explained to you when you stayed the paintwork in the bathroom in question was due for redecoration after a minor leak after torrential rain the week before. It had to dry out and hence the paintwork had been effected. We both agreed that in an eighteenth century inn maintenance is an ongoing work in progress and cannot be...
