John & Ann are friendly and welcoming hosts and are obviously very house proud. The lodge and surrounding gardens are immaculate. It is a very pretty setting with a private beach. The views from the lounge and kitchen area are breathtaking. My husband had a terrible blister on his right heel so with the wet weather forecast we decided not...

We really appreciated the exceptional hospitality of Ann and John - they were so welcoming after a wet morning of walking (Ann even washed and dried our gear for us overnight). Dinner was superb with salad ingredients fresh from their garden. The warm and friendly accommodation was just what we needed to recharge the batteries.

Stayed here following day 2 of the Queen Charlotte track. Hosts welcoming and gave us some advice on day 3- plus options if we wanted to get a boat part of way (I miscalculated distance) but felt reassured after speaking to them. Room cosy as was the guest lounge with wood burner & kitchen. Enjoyed the home baking with coffee...

While walking the queen Charlotte track we were upgraded to here, and were certainly pleased at this. Wonderful rooms for the 8 of us, fantastic welcome and friendliness. We had the dinner there, which was really great and delicious. Local and home grown ingredients. Fantastic. Fantastic John and Ann. Great on the queen Charlotte walk, or maybe water taxi from...

Mahana Lodge is standout. It is one of the best places I've stayed in NZ in the last 11 years, and I've traveled around a lot. Beautiful surroundings, well kept property, great hosts, and comfy well laid out rooms. It is obvious the care that the owners have taken over renovating this property. The food is as good as everything...

John and Ann are very welcoming and extremely helpful. This was our second day on the track and it had been raining and very wet underfoot. The setting is beautiful. We enjoyed excellent accommodation and a fantastic meal that night in the conservatory. The smell of the grapes that are growing above the table is incredible and make a great...

Was incredibly impressed and had a very memorable one night stay here while mountain biking the QC track with my partner. Was warmly greeted by John who showed us where we could hose down our very muddy bikes and store them overnight. Our room (number 4) was just lovely, with a private balcony and a gorgeous view of the inlet....

We stayed here for three nights, arriving by water taxi. We were met on the quay and our suitcases were taken up to our room in the main lodge behind the house. The accommodation consists of four en suite rooms plus a well equipped lounge where you can socialise with other guests. Our room, room 4 had a private balcony...

We stayed three nights at this wonderful lodge. John and Ann are very welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. Because of the isolated location of the lodge they serve an excellent three course meal each evening and if you wish you can order a rich packed lunch for your travels. The lodge has a kitchen which is used for breakfast only...

This was a great lodge to stay at. The owners were very welcoming and we were impressed with all the little extras like home smoked NZ salmon for dinner and the comprehensive briefing for the next leg of our walk. Dinner was outstanding as was the packed lunch. A really welcoming place which was spotless. Would thoroughly recommend this accommodation...
