My family (mum and dad and our three teens) stayed at Punga Cove Resort for three nights over Waitangi weekend. The place is just magic. First the setting is hard to beat. The resort is in a quiet little bay, tucked out of the wind, with bush clad hills all around. The cicadas chirp away and the native bird song...

Very friendly staff, yummy food and coffee at the cafe on the wharf. Used the spa which was a welcome warm up after the cool water. Nice touch to have a fresh water shower on the shore. Papers available and the surprisingly great reception at the cafe if there is a need to catch up with news or sports (especially...

Punga Cove is a beautiful spot, accessible by a long and winding road (not recommended) or by water taxi from Picton or as a stop while walking the Queen Charlotte Walkway. The next day's walk to Portage is the longest and hardest (no shortcuts) so we chose to spend two nights at Punga to enjoy the place a little longer....

We were allocated one of Punga Cove's A-frame cottages after completing the relatively easy walk from Furneaux Lodge. Very cute (her), somewhat impractical (him). The building's shape meant a significant loss of usable area and posed some minor safety issues. A promised storm arrived 30 minutes after we did, with howling winds, lightning and solid rain continuing throughout the night....

Two friends and I stayed at Punga Cove for 2 nights in late January, 2017. We generally liked it there. The staff members were uniformly friendly and helpful. The resort itself was very nice. Prices are not cheap, but kind of expected for being in a hard to read area. We rented the Penthouse, which cost us $500 a night....

Our third visit and after the walk from Furneaux Lodge we were greeted by a wonderful Argentinian lady. She was professional and courteous and interested. Just what you need after the walk. The boatshed has been refurbished and is now more in keeping with the rest of the resort. The only downside is that after 5:30 pm your opportunities to...

A group of us stayed in the Weka and Tui Chalets after our day walk on the Queen Charlotte Track. The team at Punga Cove were extremely accomodating and very professional. The chalets were of high standard, the restaurant food/wine were amazing, the live music was fantaistic, and the cafe's cocktails were just what we needed after a long tramp....

Stayed here on night two of our Queen Charlotte track tramp. Amazing setting and excellent to be able to enjoy a glass of wine (reasonably priced) at the picturesque Boatshed Cafe! Dear guest, We were delighted to receive your comments regarding your recent visit. Your feedback is most valuable for the entire team. We apologize about the hot tub being cold, but that happens when the water is changed in the morning, so it take a little while to get to the correct temperature.
