Detailed Reviews
Totally agree with what others have said about the warmth of the welcome, quality of food and standard of the accomodation. Elaine and Dougie are great hosts, with a wealth of suggestions of what to do for both golfers and the rest of us(!).
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

We stayed here for 2 nights for a golfing trip, and booked The Neuk and The Laroch rooms. The rooms are in a separate stone built bungalow with a communal porch, which was ideal for the four of us as we could easily communicate with the friends in the other room, and no need to be concerned about disturbing anyone else. I would be very happy to stay in either of these rooms as a couple however, as other than the porch, there is complete privacy. Both rooms were beautifully furnished, with luxury ensuite shower rooms, fridge, flat screen TV and a tea/coffee tray.
But the real stars of this B&B are Elaine and Douglas - they could not have been more helpful or more friendly. Even before we arrived they were happy for us to arrange a late check in (we had a game of golf booked). They also recommended their local for an evening meal and booked it for us (The Tavern - highly recommended) . We received a really warm welcome when we arrived, and when we asked Douglas about booking buggies for our next day’s golf, he offered to book them for us (and did!). There was a wonderful selection for breakfast, and it was all delicious.
Douglas and Elaine both took the time to chat with us and were keen to ensure we had the best time while staying with them. Even since we got home their kindness continues, as I left an adapter which Elaine is returning by post.
If you’re visiting St Andrews, staying here is a must!!

My fiancée and I spent one night here for a wedding we were invited to in St. Andrews.
What a gem of a B&B! Elaine and Doug are the perfect hosts and the kettle in our room was even boiled for us arriving! Nice touch.
As the B&B is around 3 miles outside St. Andrews we planned to get a taxi but Elaine ran us in to town with her car instead. Very nice of her!
Our room was lovely, clean and very modern in the outhouse.
Breakfast in the morning was pre ordered and ready to be served as soon as we arrived!
This will be our number 1 B&B to stay at when we are back down in the future. Perfect!

We were visiting our daughter at the University of St. Andrew's and had a car. I am so happy we chose this charming, very clean/comfy, guest house. Owners are wonderful, breakfast in delicious. Love the design and deocrations...truly smart choice! :)

After a long day travelling this lovely B&B was just what we needed. The hospitality we experienced was amazing. Doug and Elaine go beyond the call of duty to be as helpful as possible. One of the main reasons for our travelling that way was for me to find the house my grandmother lived in as a little girl. Doug went to the trouble of printing out a map&directions that led us straight to the address. It was so very kind of him.
The room was exceptional. I loved that everywhere I looked throughout the room, there were lovely little touches. Bed is ever so comfy too. The attention to detail and cleanliness would put most accommodations we have stayed at to shame.
The breakfast was amazing! We chose the Eggs Benedict which was possibly the best we have ever had. Wish we had stayed there longer than one night.

This year was our 25th Anniversary Golf your playing courses round St Andrews area. As usual we stayed at Mansedale House B and B, with hosts Dougy and Elaine looking after us.
Once again the accommodation was great, breakfasts first class and Dougy had even organised terrific weather for us. We have booked for next year already!!

Stayed once again in Mansedale House for my annual golfing break with friends from across the UK. Room as usual was immaculate. Stayed in the self contained cottage within the grounds, with ample space for parking.
Our hosts Dougy and Elaine looked after us very well, with a very tasty breakfast to set us up for the day. Dougy is a mine of information about all the best golf courses in Fifd, having played most of them himself. A great holiday, we will be booking Mansedale House again next year. Thoroughly Recommended.

Our yearly golfing week in the Kingdom of Fife brought us to Strathkinness where we stayed with Dougy and Elaine at Mansedale House B and B. The accommodation, as usual was spotless and the rooms were as comfortable as ever. The breakfasts were to everyone's liking, some having the delicious full Scottish, whilst those of us who were a trifle delicate in the mornings could only manage Elaine's wonderful fresh fruit salad and toast. As always, nothing was too much trouble and everyone was more than satisfied with whatever had been ordered.
Thanks again Dougy and Elaine for a great week. We all look forward to seeing you again next year.

We stayed for 2 nights in this excellent bed&breakfast. Our room was named "Laroch", and we loved it. It was a lovely room, very spacious, modern, extremely clean and very comfortable, with a spacious and highly comfortable bathroom. Breakfast is generous and delicious, well assorted and served in a lovely room. Our hosts, Douglas and Elaine, are very friendly and helpful. They booked for us a table for dinner in a nice pub "The Tavern", that was absolutely delicious. The house is peaceful and lovely, with a wonderful garden. Located closed to beautiful St Andrews. We'll recommend Mansedale House to all our friends and family, and definitely we'd come back.

Just got back from staying at Mansedale House B and B for our annual golf tour with friends from all over UK. As per usual we received a warm welcome from mine hosts Dougy and Elaine. The accommodation was comfortable and spotless, the breakfasts were tasty and filling, just what was needed before a full days hacking our way round some of Fife's finest golf courses. A special mention must be made about the haggis and black pudding, which are the best I have tasted anywhere. They even managed to turn on the sunshine for us, with rain only on one day out of the week! Well done Doug and Elaine, we will definitely be back again next year.
