Wow, the food at Le Lascaux was exceptional. Husband and wife team do an amazing job running this place. They were so friendly and helpful. We were cycling through the region and it was such a treat to have a night here. The bread is home made and absolutely delicious. Dinner and breakfast was so tasty and they present the...

This moderately-priced hotel was a newly restored 19th century (?) mansion, decorated in charming French country style. The room was thoughtfully set up for the comfort and convenience of the guests and tbe breakfast/ dining room was a bright, beautiful space, manorial in its dimensions. The breakfast buffet was lavish, and delicious. The proprietors were very professional but friendly and...

This is a great hotel. the room is more like a bed & breakfast style. Large room with separate sitting room. Air conditioned, mini bar, coffee maker, wifi, and TV. Really impressed with how big rooms was. There is a great restaurant in the hotel. The owner and his wife are the chef and server. We arrived too late for...

This was in many ways a very pleasant and satisfactory hotel in a charming town in Dordogne. The rooms were of a reasonable size, the beds very comfy and with a good air-conditioning. The meals were of excellent value and the staff and owners very courteous.

My wife and I took a road trip through France during October 2015. We took a Brittany Ferry to Bilbao and then drove into France, stopping initially in the Pyrenees and journeying on to the Dordogne and finally catching a ferry home from Ouistreham. The road trip was a combined gourmet experience and sightseeing trip. All the hotels we stayed...

Pleasant hotel, just outside the centre of Montignac, about a 5 minute walk from the shops and restaurants in middle of the village, and maybe a 5 minute drive to the Grotte de Lascaux. We had a comfortable room of a reasonable size, with the sofa-bed made up for our teenage daughter. Unusually for French hotels, this one had air...

We stayed one night with our two dogs and also had dinner in the restaurant. They were very welcoming including husband carrying our bags to the upstairs room. The room had been tastefully refurbished in a French style with a rare addition in a French hotel of tea and coffee making facilities. The fridge was also welcome and the very...

We were offered a superior room for the price of a standard, which meant we had a great room overlooking the road (sound proofed windows) with more space than we experienced in other locations. The host was genial, and very accommodating of my hesitant French. We parked our car at the back of the premises, enjoyed the conveniences of a...

This is a lovely hotel, within a short walking distance of the very quaint town of Martignac. Our room was tastefully and beautifully decorated in a rustic/vintage style. We had everything we needed: flat screen tv, tea tray, mini bar, iPod dock, comfy couch and a modern bathroom. The bed was squeezed into a narrow section of the room but...
