A long awaited return to Embleton. We stayed in Derwent - a cosy double room. We dined both nights in the restaurant - the food is phenomenal. Probably the best dining experience in a very long time. This was our fifth stay so enjoyed revisitng Cockermouth, Keswick and the surrounding area. We also visited Whitehaven - this is such a beautiful part of the world and we hope to be able to return sooner rather than later. A huge thank you to ALL the team at Embleton - you really have nailed the hotel/fine dining experience!

We had chosen this venue for last year but due to COVID this was postponed to this year . The Hotel was nothing short of a haven/ sanctuary for our New Years stay. Three nights of absolute pleasure. The approach from the staff was the friendliest I have experienced, nothing was too much trouble and, despite the obvious restrictions imposed by the current COVID guidance, they made everything accessible and pleasurable. 'Dog friendly' is an understatement should be 'dog loving' I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough! The food was first class, every meal including breakfast was of an exceptional standard some of the locally produced and home made items; from Lemon Curd, Jams and Marmalade to Ice-cream, Sauces, fresh meat, fish and vegetables were of an exceptional standard. Truly the best of stays and will be a great memory until the next time we return, and we will!

We have just return from a short New Year break. We’ve stayed at here many times before and absolutely it. The staff are so friendly, the location is great and the hotel facilities are brilliant. You are made to feel at home from the moment you arrive. The hotel is clean and the food is delicious. It’s a really dog friendly hotel too, which is a massive bonus for us and other dog lovers. There are some really lovely walks / runs from the hotel doorstep. Thank you for a fabulous stay. We’ll be back again soon.

We stayed here for the Xmas break as a family of 9 with our yorkshire terrier. The whole experience was exceptional....from the first booking the staff went out if their way to provide us with information and help with upgrades/special requests etc. Everyone was helpful friendly and extremely accommodating. All the rooms were lovely immaculately clean and each had there own little Xmas tree which was a really special touch. The food was brilliant especially the 5 course Xmas lunch- the atmosphere was relaxed and laid back and there was no rush. The staff were kind enough to year our dog to a breakfast sausage each morning! This is our second stay here and it definitely won't be the last. A beautiful hotel with warm staff and a lively feel-we will be back very soon!
