Miramar Surf Camp consists of 3 individuals lodging areas, spread over a half acre beachfront property. We have 13 fully equipped A/C rooms nestled throughout the gardens which overlook the beautiful point break out front. There is lots of parking, a surf front pool, oceanfront restaurant area, yoga/training gym, game area, surf TV room, hammock hangout area and surf front living room! We are strategically positioned right in front of one of the best reef breaks of Nicaragua, in a place blessed by consistent waves and offshore winds all day. There are FIVE breaks within a 200 metre walk, to give you lots of opportunity to score uncrowded waves. It's not necessary have a car to surf in our area, in addition to the many waves within walking distance, we also have our own boat that provides daily shuttles to surf Puerto Sandino, El Transito, Salinas or other secret spots. This property is located in Punta Miramar. This beautiful left hander breaks over a rock reef bottom but still has a deep takeoff. The wave can be heavy with some nice barrel sections that flow into a softer section before it hits the inside and throws again. Provides long rides on the better days. Our hotel is located near Pipes. A-Frame Beach Break with a flat reef on the lefts. This wave has long lefts and rights and will barrel on most swells and works well on all tides. This property is also located near Puerto Sandino. This is the most popular spot in the area. An offshore break with boat access only. A very long left over a sand bar with rocks on the inside. This wave can be very fast and hollow at times and provide long rides. Also know as "freight trains" or "La Barra" works on low tide and the boats leave in front of Miramar Surf Camp. In addition to solid surf, the property has an oceanfront restaurant and small bar for guests to enjoy. Sitting atop the point, you can enjoy fresh burgers, fish, salads and the plate of the day whilst watching your friends get barrelled out front. We have a selection of local beers, fresh juices and sodas to sip on to keep yourself feeling hydrated in the blistering heat. Or take a couple to our oceanfront pool while you keep cool. For all the non-surfers, we have an on-site training area where you can enjoy yoga, jiujitsu or your own routine. We can arrange a variety of interesting activities such as horseback riding, paddle boarding, volcano treks or a guided visit to nearby colonial city Leon to enriched your vacation. We hope to see you soon!

I do not enjoy giving negative reviews. I am 68 yrs old and was always taught that if you didn’t have something good to say, don’t say it! However, I believe this review needs to be said. We had been dealing with Brittany from Miramar for months with nothing but positive outcomes. Always answering our emails and phone calls. We deposited with her (Miramar) in August for a visit over the Christmas/New years Holiday 2021-2022. Brittany wasn’t just the one in charge, but became our friend (our comfortable connection to Nicaragua). We were booked with American Airlines for our trip, and at some point American announced that they would not be flying into Nicaragua, and canceled our flights. We informed Brittany of our problem, and rebooked through Avianca. She said that she also had another group coming in and would refund our deposit if we wished. She also said that refunds were unusual but she would do this for us. We immediately said no, that our hearts were set on this trip and we had already booked non refundable tickets through Avianca. Brittany told us that she informed the other group that two of the beachfront rooms were unavailable, reserved for a group of 4 (that was us). I will never understand what happened next. In October we received an email from Brittany that she would be unable to honor our reservation and that she would be returning our deposit. I called her and she told me that the other group had decided that they wanted all the rooms, and with that, we were tossed to the curb. Non refundable airline tickets and no place to go! The reason I was given: This is a large group and we’ve had little income for a year and a half! My feelings: I could not morally do that to anyone, and I was shocked! In my book, an honorable person would not do that. To her credit, she sent me a short list of other surf camps and we ended up booking with one of them. I do understand economics, but I don’t understand being treated like that. I am one that likes to plan and book early so that situations like this don’t happen. What a rollercoaster ride! Towards the end of our trip, my wife wanted to walk down the beach to visit Miramar surf camp. I said I really didn’t have the desire to do this, so she and my daughter texted Brittany (who said sure, come by), and they made the short walk on the beach. They sat at the bar and ordered a drink. The bartender wanted to charge them a 10 dollar guest fee in addition to the cost of the drink. My wife said that she had been invited by Brittany and the “guest fee” should be waved, but she would be happy to pay for the drinks. The bartender walked over to the rail and was speaking to Brittany on the beach. She didn’t even walk up the 15 steps to greet my wife and daughter. I suppose that in the end, I should thank Brittany. Although we went through some stress and anxious moments planning this trip, we certainly ended up in a much better place with friendly and honorable people.

What a little gem! My partner Alex and I booked last minute to stay at the Miramar surf camp for one night and ended up extending our stay. The location, staff, rooms and of course the owners Brittney and Raff were amazing! Once again thankyou for everything and also making our New Years one to remember. Sophie xx

Miramar is such a great sea and this place makes it even better. The view from the hotel is amazing, you can be up in the pool or at the bar, or you can go to the sea just a few meters from the place. The people working there are really kind and the owners are really nice people. 5/5, it’s my second time visiting the Surf Camp and definitely I will continue going. Thanks!

Miramar was an incredible experience. We were a group of four and stayed for a week. We were beginners surfers and we learned and practiced a lot in just a week. Caio was a great instructor! The vibe here is the best. Every night people get together in the dining area and socialize, have a beer, play guitar...very different than a traditional hotel. The food is something else - home-cooked, healthy good stuff! The pitaya bowl is delicious. The staff is kind, they know you by your name which shows how much they care about their guests. What makes it so special is that it’s a family business and they go above and beyond to help you with anything you need - from putting a desk in your room to booking your volcano trip. It feels like you're staying at a family's home. Thank you Dani, Caio, and Leandro for this experience, we can’t wait to come back!

Room Tip: Garden-facing rooms are quieter but the ocean-facing ones have a beautiful view and ocean sound.

It was our first time in Nicaragua and Miramar Surf Camp felt like a sanctuary! The staff was so kind, welcoming, and personable. They took care of everything we needed and made sure that we were happy, relaxed, & surfing in the best conditions. Our room was comfortable, had an epic ocean view, and air-conditioning. The food was delicious and healthy. There are two beautiful yoga decks and I might come back to host a retreat there. They had everything taken care of with taxies and a trip to the volcano. The property is directly in front of an incredible break and the other two best spots are just a 15 min boat ride that they arrange. We can't wait to come back and feel like we have a home in Miramar Surf Camp!
