All the staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay a memorable, pleasant one. The Manager, Chad is fantastic! Victor, his assistant, lent us his hats for an outing since we forgot ours. We saw a family of monkeys (maybe 20 of them) minutes from the hotel coming back one day from an excursion....

Wow! Did we enjoy this hotel. I was with my sister and two young adult nieces. We stayed 9 days in room #5 which has a bedroom and bathroom on both sides of a large living/kitchen area. We were on the ground floor with glass doors facing the absolutely beautiful, clean beach. We were usually the only people on the...

We arrived at the hotel around 4PM. Chad, the owner who also works the front desk made us feel like home. He physically walked us to our 2nd floor room. To our surprise, the a/c in our room was not working. After several attempts by the staff to get the a/c working, we were moved to a 1st floor suite,...

Sir, thank you for your comments and let me express our disappointment that you did not have a pleasant experience at Cocomar. Might I say that our Manager reacted quickly to find you a different room when the original one had a faulty air conditioner. You found that the sliding doors did not lock. All of our sliding doors have...

This place had a certain amount of charm but was average. The rooms were far from immaculate -- the television did not function, and the Internet was extremely spotty. The bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. The hammock and swing outside of the room were nice touches. Food was okay. Beach was beautiful, however, and easily accessible.

We stayed at the Cocomar for four glorious nights in March. Our air- conditioned second floor suite overlooked the ocean. The suite was very spacious- a large living room, a kitchen, a bedroom with two double beds, and an enormous bathroom with a shower and two decorative sinks.. The kitchen was well-equipped with a stove, fridge, microwave, toaster, blender, etc....

I went to Cocomar Resort in Jan 2016 for my first time and although I didn't know what to expect it was beyond amazing. Very nice grounds and the people were friendly. The private beach just amazing, food there very good. I happened to meet Chad and made my trip really great. You do need a car since it is...

Nice view, good bedrooms, veryclean and confortable. Needs improvement on service. There are no services at the swimming pool or at the beach, and breakfast needs improvement also, instead of a lot of the same fruit, have 2 or 3 different types of fruits. But besides that it is a good Hotel.

This place is really nice and quiet with a great beach just in front. The breakfast area is very beautiful and the morning food includes fruit, omletes, natural juices etc. The rooms are quite big, nicely decorated and the AC is working perfectly. The place is really isolated so there are no options for dining within walking distance. Overall, if...

I have stayed in hundreds of hotels. This was just average. The beach was nice especially being right next to the hotel and the kids had a great time on it but they did cry because the black sand burnt their feet. It gets very hot! (not hotels fault of course). The rooms are a great large size with plenty...

We have stayed there only one night, on the way to Manuel Antonio. The hotel was very nice, the beds big and comfortable. The breakfast delicious with a beautiful view to the beach. If you want a nice hotel in the middle of nowhere, that is the place to be. We loved the beach, with no people around. The sand...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a small boutique property with only 20 units and hence very personalized service. We are located on the beach of Isla Palo Seco of Parrita, just two hours from San Jose, Costa Rica with nothing between you and the ocean except a few palm trees. We offer 1, 2 & 3 bedroom units. Anything from a standard hotel room to a full 2,200 sq ft. living area with full kitchen and dining area. Isla Palo Seco is still one of the undiscovered authentic beach destinations unspoiled by loads of tourists, yet has a local community to fulfill basic needs while vacationing. The city of Parrita is a ten-minute drive away and has banks, supermarkets, restaurants, shopping, churches and a medical clinic. There are taxis and bus service to Quepos, Jaco and San Jose. ... more   less
