We had a late lunch here on Mother's Day. Despite it being busy, we had a delicious meal and excellent service. We had a table in the conservatory which overlooked the back garden. It was a warm sunny day and the doors were open to the garden which kept the temperature just right. There were also blinds on the windows...

Mixed emotions to begin with, but the Langton Arms did a great job. My wife and I stayed here for three nights as a group of 6 couples of mature age (physically if not mentally) enjoying our annual midweek pub break. The Langton Arms is a picture postcard pub, set in a picturesque village. It has a small bar with...

An ideal place for the first meal of our holiday, on the way from Surrey to East Devon. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. The village is quiet, off the beaten track, just the place to relax after a morning on the road.

The service here is exceptional, very friendly and warm and the price reasonable considering the quality of the food. we both had the stuffed aubergine which was delicious. Would definitely eat here again!

Went again for lunch this time with friends. The service atmosphere etc was very good but this is an above averagely expensive gastropub so I would expect everything to be 'fine' at least. I did not expect underdone duck confit, overcooked pigeon breast and somewhat boring vegetables (what was the purpose of the carrot puree?). The bill was £150 for...

Dear jerryhardy A surprise to us to read your review. Your bill was £141.45 which is only £35.36 per person which included drinks on arrival, starters, main course, some desserts, coffee and more drinks. I can assure you the confit of Duck Leg was not under cooked and the pigeon breast was definitely served pink. The staff checked back with...

The Langton is a lovely traditional country pub in the village of Tarrant Monkton. We have dined there on many occasions and always found the fare in the restaurant to be of high quality. The service is attentive, too, and quite a cut above most pubs. The only (slight) criticism/opinion/observation I would make is that the chips are described as...

We visited to celebrate a special birthday. This is our second visit and once again the food, service and atmosphere was outstanding. The staff are second to none! Although not cheap, it was not extortionate and absolutely delicious. The menu was varied, with something for everyone. Defiantly worth the drive out!

Dear 50JT What a lovely review, thank you for all your kind words. Sometimes the second visit is a trickier one than the first as we have to meet all expectations from visit one. Lovely day out with the Lions Club for their 44th year Chater Lunch with our Mayor as the guest of honour. Held in the function room with buffet service, ample portions of the main and dessert, an observation and not a criticism would be serving a demitasse of soup instead of a bowl which is filling and cheap, but maybe...
