It has been awhile since we had eaten here....why did it take us so long to return when we had such a fabulous meal. This was 7pm on a Friday evening and the table was booked four days before (by email). We arrived early and as the weather was nice we took our drinks out into the garden. There are... More

Haven;t been to this place for nearly a year so popped in for a meal over bank holiday weekend. What a wonderful return. As always, buzzing with families and helpful staff, food as good as ever. Couldn't resist the homemade steak pie and my husband devoured the local venison sausages. Good beers, great atmosphere and a warm return welcome, they... More

Just been for an early dinner....... Arrived in the restaurant and no one was about so walked though various rooms to what I think was the bar area before I found a member of staff, which I have to say she was wonderful and very helpful and took us to our table and took our drinks order which arrived promptly.... Dear Trotskie, Thank you for your candid review. It sounds as if it was a meal of two halves with two of you hitting the jackpot with the ham, egg and chips (my favourite) and the steak pie. You could definitely have had potatoes or a salad as an alternative, please do ask if you come again. Also fantastic to... More

Pub / restaurant in beautiful village was big disappointment. 5 had evening meals and not one of them could have been called good - average at best. Only 3 real ales, all good. Most of staff foreign with poor English; placing orders was difficult. When asked 'what gins do you stock?' The answer was 'Gordon's and Bacardi' ( which is... More

Dear TonyB, A difficult review to respond to as we're proud of our little independently owned pub, our hard working multi-cultural EU team, our local Dorset food and our freehouse status. We think three real ales is a good balance alongside lagers, wine list and the rest of the bar but maybe we need one more. Perhaps a kinder visitor... More

I booked a table for lunch explaining that we were on holiday and it was my parents diamond wedding anniversary. When we arrived we were shown into the dining room, where the staff had decorated the table with balloons and flower petals. The service and the food was excellent. We felt the staff had gone out of their way to... More

Beautiful old Inn & Accommodation in lovely quiet Dorset countryside. Good rooms in separate annexe courtyard style buildings. Excellent steaks. Good breakfast. Not budget but nor over expensive. Very busy. Will definitely stay again here.

Dear JonD Thanks for putting the sunshine back into our rather wet and windy weekend. We love having people to stay that enjoy the charm and quirkiness of our 17thC thatched pub and our own Langton Arms steaks and sausages that we serve! We want to be value for money for the quality we offer, it sounds as if we... More

Attended for saturday lunch. Excellent, locally sourced food, good value and varied menu. Friendly and not pretentious. Veg all included which makes a welcome change from the recent fashion for charging extra for veg/salad. Impressed by the "can do " approach of the friendly staff.Highly recommended.
