Not sure if this place is still operating as a hotel but the restaurant was open. Francesco and his nephew made us a wonderful Italian meal. We felt like we at his home having a family meal of wine, bruschetta, pizza and two types of pasta carbonara and cascio de pepe.
I never write reviews but this was such a lovely place I just had to come and say it to the world! Daniel is the best host! The location is great, food is nice and the people are so so lovely! You really feel taken care of. The place is kept very clean and tidy, both bungalow styles are nice. Having the beach at your feet was the best !!! It is located right next to a turtle sanctuary so we had the pleasure of seeing a huge turtle lay eggs. Also had the opportunity to see the babies turtles released in the ocean! If you like surf, this is perfect also. I recommend 100% and shall be back !
I didn't stay in one of the two bungalows available, but we went there for dinner 2 nights in a row. Everything is delicious - especially the tuna and pasta dishes - it's amazing what they can create in the middle of nowhere. The hosts also had fine wine on hand, all reasonably priced. They can even make espressos! I've read reviews that say they were disappointed that there was no pizza or cheese on the night they went, this happened to us too, but you truly are a few hours from the nearest good food source, so when you take this into consideration, everything they did prepare for us was excellent.
Very tasty quality food priced accordingly. Have a beer and Italian inspired cuisine under the rancho on the beach while using the wifi. The owners are a friendly Italian couple always welcoming us with a smile and great service. We ate many different items from the menu over several days and all were great: lobster with linguini, omlettes, zucchini and cheese cannelloni, beef milanese, fresh salads... and especially the pizzas! I hope it's all the same when we return.
My girlfriend and I stayed here in March 2013. We looked online and both agreed Boom Shiva sounded like the perfect place. We found out the truth the same night we got there. There was no cheese for the pizza we were both in the mood to eat so we went next door to another hotel that was having pizza night. Thankfully our appetites were very pleased with this. The first night we were kept awake until well after midnight with the owners and their party. The second day the hotel was without electricity and water for 8 hours. We found out that this happens with regularity. The bed was very soft and uncomfortable and we both woke up with aches and pains in our backs. We decided to check out after only 3 days and found a much better hotel next door. We will never come back to Boom Shiva!…
