I was only staying for 2 nights so I opted for the "comfort suite", as it was only €80 additional per night. I was happy with my choice, as the suite was huge and breathtaking. Two chandeliers, 3 rooms, and a bed so big four people could fit in it. When I checked in, the bell man told me I...

I was a guest for a beautiful, high-profile, wedding in september 2015. We had a wonderful time at the castle.. it was just gorgeous, really no words can describe it. The food at the restaurant was perfect as well! The rooms were small, but as expected, however not cramped. Would highly recommend a trip here to this beautiful castle.

We stayed with our 3 and 5 year old sons and stayed in their 180 sqm 2 bedroom apartment on the top floor. The location is perfect for exploring the Collio and wine tasting. There is a kitchen in the apartment which is a better option than eating at their restaurants because the service is too slow for small kids....

We spent 4 unforgettable days in March in castello di Spessa, Capriva dei Friuli, in the friuli region. Beautiful, elegant, peaceful castle hotel, set amidst a lovely, sumptuous park, surrounded by a golf course. Very well decorated interiors. Excellent restaurants in the grounds. Various possibilities of agreable walking trails and driving loops amongst the great vineyards of the Collio in...

Wow! This castle-turned-hotel is Amazing! I was visiting with a tour group. We had a local historian provide information about Casanova's stay and the use of the castle by the Nazis. Ask about the history! The grounds are beautiful. There is plenty of outdoor space to stroll, sit, and enjoy the regional views. There is also a full golf course...

We stayed here 2 nights and the setting is absolutely beautiful. Our room was large and comfortable. The only thing that was missing was a tub for soaking (other rooms may have tubs I didn't ask) - we were on a cycling trip, so it would have been nice to have a big deep tub for a soak after our...

We spent two nights here in April in one of the loveliest rooms possible, #13. Spacious, exquisite in decor, and quiet. Also, the eat-in breakfast kitchen was a dream! As the place wasn't busy, we had time to talk to the multi-purpose bellman/breakfast helper, who had been there for seven years. He gave us a private tour of the entire...

Who likes arts and history, who wants to relax into the nature, who loves sports, who doesn’t want to miss any little thing and loves cuisine, and especially good wines…well: those expectations will be met in Castello di Spessa Resort! Noble and historical buildings as the castle, or the elegant and comfortable Tavernetta al Castello, both in Capriva del Friuli, as well as the typical Country Inn La Boatina, in Cormòns, where you will enjoy a dreamy stay and have the chance to discover Friuli Venezia Giulia, with its landscapes and treasures. Every structure in Castello di Spessa Resort has its distinctive character, with an impeccable service in common. The castle has always been suited for hospitality. Its vocation is proved by many illustrious stays during the centuries, one for all Giacomo Casanova in 1773.Today, we put at our Guests disposal 14 rooms and a loft, furnished with 1700 and 1800 furniture, with an historical and aristocratic atmosphere and intimacy. Breakfast is served in the ancient kitchen. And then, it is possible to relax in the old park, or to visit the original medieval wine cellars under the castle, where our wines are refined. In the magnificent scenery of the old park there is also a splendid 18 holes golf course, accessible also during winter, because of its location that ensures a mild climate during most of the year. ... more   less
