Absolutely first rate. Lovely welcome. Stunning room and breakfast was second to none. Will be back soon. Booked this through late rooms night before 40 pppn which believe me was worth every penny . Had a meal in the Golden Lion which I will rate separately as this too was fabulous. If on a walking holiday and to see hadrians... More

Very happy with the Tea Rooms warm welcome with excellent tea and scones.Rooms were comfortable and nicely furnished. Breakfast offered a wide range including fresh fruit, PORRIDGE, home made jams and the usual full English with lighter alternatives. Wendy was so welcoming and happy to help - even mopped up my spilt sun lotion!

Allendale is a very pretty place and 11 cyclists had ridden from corbridge to Allendale which is a fairly choppy route and were quite hungry. we thought we may not get in all together and were prpeared to split however they kindly gave us the room at the back through the main tea room. Food very nice made fresh and... More

A very comfortable double room at this small B&B. Plenty of storage space, firm bed, bathroom with bath and shower, TV. Good quality toiletries and tea, coffee and biscuits. Even dressing gowns. Wifi a bit slow and phone signals a problem in this area. Sited at the market place, room above the tea room overlooking the attractive square. A good... More

This little Victorian tea room in the market place in Allendale is superb on all counts. Food quality is the best, with truly home cooked flavour and quality. The best bacon bap and nut roast in Northumberland without a doubt and at amazing prices.

They were so welcoming and accommodating. The room Was lovely and local to a few good locals. I dont have anything negative to add. Breakfast was delicious with a large selection. Cooked breakfast, cereals, toast, yoghurt and fresh fruit. The bed was super comfortable and the shutters on the Windows allowed total darkness so a restful night with no noise... More

My wife and I have been here several times, usually just for a snack. This time we came for the Sunday lunch. Bearing in mind that this is a café and not a restaurant what we had was excellent value. We chose the small lunch at £5.95 (large is £7.95) as we don't eat as much as when we were... More

“The wifi is the best that Allendale can offer, but this is rural Northumberland and the mention of "superfast broadband" just makes local people burst out laughing. If you need to check emails, you'll be OK - but don't expect anything more. The town square still has an active public phone box, and people still need to use it!”
