We spent two nights as part of a Secret Escapes deal.

We stayed in room 25 which is a park room on the ground floor with a pretty terrace overlooking the interior garden.

It looked and felt like a mini villa.

Very spacious. Large king size bed. External and internal table and seating. Dressing table, fridge, tea coffee facilities and safe. Loads of storage and large bathroom with shower.

Pool area was also very nice as well and opens early so you can swim before breakfast. Also heated.

Great selection at breakfast too where you can eat on the terrace as well.

The hotel is next to a primary school so during the day during term time you can hear the kids playing. It did not disturb us at all, it sounded like they were having a great time!

Great hotel and would recommend.

We're so glad that we didn't book a hotel in the centre of Avignon during the hot august month. With an average day temeparture of around 34°C it's nice to be able to kickback in the luscious garden or around the swimmingpool area. Mind you it's not an easy drive to Avignon you definitely need a good gps to find your way around le Pontet which functions as a bedroom community for the area. The only drawback is that the hotel probably used the same decorator as Louis XIV when he built Versailles. I think it's a French thing and it's defintely too kitschy and pompous for our taste. The second drawback that there's not enough room around the pool. If you arrive in the afternoon all the seats are taken. But other than that we really enjoyed our stay here

set in what looks to be a residential areas on the outskirts of Avignon it is a surprise to see how large and private the property is once you enter. we received a very friendly welcome from the owner who checked us in and provided a light lunch even though we were outside of their lunch serving times. It has a large terrace dappled with tree shade. Lunch gave us clue to the quality of the food offer here so we opted to dine in which was the right thing to do. We had the tasting menu - absolutely superb. The room was spacious with a separate sitting room, tea and coffee, fridge facilities. Modern bight bathroom, separate bath and shower/double basin. pretty pool area too.

Our room was great with a really comfortable king bed. Value for the money is great. The pool is in the back garden area, and quite nice. The restaurant is pricey and a bit tiny-portioned on the entrees, but it's fun for one night to dine in the garden and not have to drive.

On Sundays, a must-do is the outdoor antiques/clothing/flea market in L'Isle Sur la Sorgue about 20 minutes away, from 9am to 2:30. Really great.

Sadly there are not many good local dining options (other than in L'Isle.) Ten minutes from the hotel (under 2 miles) is the shopping center anchored by IKEA. That has at least two real restaurants, each with large outdoor and indoor dining areas. One is La Vielle Marché, with pretty good food - though is right next to the outdoor playground so gets lots of children running around. Next door is a somewhat quieter Italian restaurant. No reservation needed at either.

The hotel itself is reasonably ok but it is in a poor location in Le Pontet a suburb and is a 15-minute taxi ride from the center of Avignon. Our room was on the whole good. it was a reasonable size and had a little courtyard.

If you want to eat somewhere other than the hotel restaurants which are expensive, there is very little scope apart from Napoli Pizza which is very good and about a 5-minute walk – See separate review. Also, no bar soap in the bathroom or shower which seems to be a hotel trend that I find very irritating.

Moved from Aix-En to this property in La Pontet, outside Avignon. The hosts made us feel very welcome on arrival and the owner was always extremely friendly.
The rooms are very spacious and the staff especially Thomas and Helena were fantastic.
This property is probably due for a major facelift, the pool area had weeds growing everywhere. the gardening staff need to lift their game bigtime, the biggest downside is you are a 30 Euro taxi ride away from the village, so everytime you go and come back you are 60 Euro lighter, why they don't run a shuttle is bewildering.
We ate at the restaurant the food was fantastic, expensive but very nice. They don't have a bar you can sit in the afternoon, which is also a downside for me.
Breakfast was ok
As i said i would only rate this property 4 star.

Thanks

Gavin

The hotel is about 10 minutes drive from Avignon and is approached through a commercial area but once inside is an absolute tranquil haven. There is ample parking and staff were quick and helpful at check in. The rooms are layed out around a courtyard and pool. They are beautifully appointed and comfortable with seating outside and ours was 2 steps from a peaceful pool. Dinner was served outside and was an exquisite set menu with an extensive wine list.

We spent 3 nights here it is truly a lovely small hotel with amazing infrastructure. The hotel is built around an interior courtyard garden. There is an indoor pool with a jacuzzi and an outdoor pool. There is a spa, but we did not utilize services there; it was such nice weather, and we enjoyed exploring the area. The rooms are very nice and spotlessly clean; most have a balcony or patio. The bed was a large kingsize bed, a rare find in France, and it was really comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and attentive, we had dinner in the restaurant on two evenings, and both meals were excellent. All in all, this is truly a hidden gem and if you are near Avignon, not to be missed!

We have stayed at Cassagne a minimum of 3 days on every one of our annual vacations to France and Auberge Cassagne gets better and better every time we go.
The owners are present and take really good care of their guests. They maintain the property extremely well and are always present to serve our needs. The rooms are very comfortable and charming. A 5 star hotel in our view. The dining experience is fabulous and of Michelin star qualities. The staff is well trained and courteous.

This is a nice hotel but overrated. Rooms could use some updating. The have a fancy chef in the restaurant and also a spa so seem to rely on these things for bonus points. Its kind in the middle of nowhere right next door to a school and housing development. Nothing to do within walking distance. The city of Avignon is a $35 Uber ride.

Dear Guests, Thank you for choosing our Hotel to stay in Avignon. We have taken note of your opinion published on the Tripadvisor site and we are disappointed that you did not leave fully satisfied with our Hotel. We offer different types of rooms, each with their own particularities in terms of equipment and decoration in order to best meet the different expectations of our customers. If you wish to return to the Auberge de Cassagne, do not hesitate to call us to reserve the room that suits you best in terms of decoration. The most economical solution (1.40 €) is the direct bus from the center of Pontet (we accompany customers), and we are 15 minutes from the ramparts of Avignon. We work daily with taxi companies which can circulate in the bus lanes and reach Avignon very quickly for an amount between 24 and 30 € We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again in the near future. Sincerely yours. Sylvie et Philippe BOUCHER

Dear Madam, We can offer different transportation possibilities for your arrival at the Marseille Provence Airport. We can arrange a private chauffeur or a cab to welcome you. To organize this acommodation we just need your plane details (arrival date, arrival time etc...). Feel free to contact us regarding this acommodation by mail. Sincerely yours. Front Desk

Sorry, I am not sure if the bathroom are equipped for your needs. If you are planning to stay at the hotel and not go out too much it is a excellent hotel. If you need to go sight seeing, it is too far from the town center and they do not provide transportation. There is nothing nearby for eating etc, so you will have to eat all your meals at the hotel.

Dear Madam, We are sorry to be reminded of your fall in our lounge and sincerely hope you recovered perfectly well. We have removed the faulty hidden step and now this is a slight inclination through the lounge to go to the restaurant. We hope you will not keep a bad memory of your stay with us and that we will be able to welcome you in the near future. Best regards, Madame Sylvie BOUCHER AUBERGE DE CASSAGNE & SPA
