It was a freezing cold winters day. Hubby and I walked into a small bar that lacked atmosphere and was cold. When looking into an adjoining room which was the restaurant, we were rather sternly told (by a tall slim waitress with bobbed hair) we could not go in there. A sign said we had to wait to be seated...

Booked Christmas lunch and told not available when we arrived. Had to pick from bar menu. Not good. Staff miserable. Would not go again. Dining room had a funny smell, which puts you off your food. Expensive for what you get.

I rang ahead and asked if they could fit 6 adults and a dog in and it was no problem at all. A table was reserved in the part of the pub without carpet (not a problem and the authentic stone floor was lovely) and upon arrival a roaring fire was on the go. At high level TV had Sky...

We had lunch here, it was terrific, we had their summer sharing platter, it was delicious. We sat in the garden and observed other customers eating their food too, everyone seemed to enjoy their choice of food as much as we did ours. The staff and landlord were very friendly too.

Nice place, nice food. A very warming pub in a nice part of the world. Had lasagne for supper after a long drive. Was very nice. Rest of family shared two platters between them. Allowed us to have a tab. Ample parking outside. Dog friendly too. Recommend

My wife, brothers and I stopped here for lunch instead of where we had planned to stop in Newtown because we were late and it was getting near time when pubs stop serving. We were greeted with a friendly smile and extensive menu, though we only wanted light lunches. We lunched in the restaurant which was clean and spacious, an...

Stopped off for an evening meal after a day out with the kids, the staff were welcoming and great with the little ones. Food fresh, homemade and delicious. The desserts are amazing. Kids menu also available and a riverside beer garden, traditional village Inn, just lovely.

Most of our food eaten by the flies in the restaurant. The young waitress TOLD US twice to go to the bar to get our drinks...like we were children. Starters-The garlic mushrooms was just mushrooms in a watery cream seriously lacking any garlic flavours or substance. The haddock cakes we really tasty and nice. Mains my husband had the 8oz...

This was one of the weirdest places I've ever stayed! We walked in and there were no obvious signs directing you where to check in. We wandered into the bar and found some. He then found someone else to take us to our room. The room was basic. Uncomfortable bed, dirty carpet and the bathroom was a joke. We had...

Stopped here on way through for Sunday Lunch. Had farmers size portion beef dinner which was huge. If I wanted to be picky there could have been more gravey but I only had to ask and more was brought anyway.
