Just back from 3 nights in San Sebastián del Oeste staying at La Galerita de San Sebastián. We have visited this lovely mining town in the Sierra Madre mountains several times over the years as a day trip. But, we thought that it would be a pleasant and restful trip for a few days to explore the town and just...

This boutique hotel is a gem! Wonderful management and staff. The breakfast was just the right way to start the day. Now, if only the town could just get rid of the multitude of four wheelers that ruin the tranquility of the Pueblo Magico.

I didn't give the highest rating only because La Galerita's prices are unusually high for a small Mexican town. In all other respects, this little hotel gets thumbs up! The buildings are very well designed and make you feel you've arrived at a Swiss chalet. It's nice and quiet at night, although even here there is no escape from the...

While vacationing in Puerto Vallarta we took part in a tour to historic San Sebastian. Aside from the customary visits to tequila and Mexican food stands, San Sebastian was very much worth the trip. A 1.5 hour bus ride from Puerto Vallarta, San Sebastian is located 7000 feet above sea level, on a mountain top village dating back to the...

We stayed at La Galerita for two nights in December 2015. Arriving from Vallarta after dark, the property was a bit challenging to find (there are small signs in town, very helpful, but not very visible), and the cobble stone streets are interesting to drive on. It seems a SUV with FWD would be best to get around, but we...

La Galerita is in a beautiful setting nestled in the hills next to classic colonial town. Each room has a fireplace, privacy and is nicely appointed. The architecture was a wonderful surprise with great attention to detail sparing no cost in construction. They served the best breakfast we have had on our trip. We certainly would go back again.

My husband surprised me with a trip to La Galerita on my birthday over a year ago and I couldn't wait to share the magic with the rest of the family. So when it was time to choose a location for the annual family business meeting I quickly called Misael. We reserved the entire property for our two day gathering,...

We found this place by walking around town and not settling for the places close to the plaza. By far the best place. You get what you pay for, it is not inexpensive but totally worth it. We loved the fire pit they have at the yard, overlooking the stars with your loved one, priceless. It gets cold during the...

Stayed here 1 night and found the setting to be incredible and the room beautiful. But in this town, 1800 pesos is far too high for low season. Even at this rate, there was no hot water, TV (wasn't working properly), or WIFI as advertised. Two rooms were available: 1 with King bed but no view, 1 with nice view...

“The three casitas are all very similar and charming. The one closest to the entrance and the one to the left of the main building have the best outdoor patios but the one up the stepping stones has a beautiful view of the church.”

“There are only a handful of cabanas, but each of them are private and unique in their own way.. The furnishings are excellent, the beds are very comfortable and the linens are clean and fresh. As I recall, each of them has their own private patio to enjoy as well. I know ours did.”
