Coming down from SW London I stayed here as my usual was busy. What a great experience - the room was highly appointed, comfortable and warm (this being the first icy night of the year), the staff were too, they couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. The REAL icing on the cake was the food. It was fantastic… such...

Enjoyed every minute of our time here. We had an exceptional meal and the staff were very professional and well mannered, especially one of the young boys. Food was gorgeous and the building was very tasteful. Also in a beautiful location very impressive.

We stayed here for a night and were pleasantly surprised. The website doesn't do it justice. The manager was really helpful with my requests (i was in wales for an ultra marathon), the night porter arranged an early breakfast for me and Lloyd provided great service when we had our really tasty dinner. Thanks guys. Loved it. Room was clean,...

This hotel is a short walk down the hill from the canal mooring point at Llangattock. We enjoyed excellent fish and chips on our upward trip and again on the way back down the canal a few days later. I was particularly impressed with the Tartar sauce (almost certainly home made) which is always a favourite of mine. A good...

I couldn't fault this place, it was superb in every way. The location fantastic, the room was exquisite and even got a lift to the station from the hotel staff, was treated like a queen, thankyou so much, will definitely be back.

We were looking for just a room before some time hiking in the Brecon Beacons, and what a delight we found. Instead of just a place to sleep we found a wonderful anchor in the delightful village of Crickhowell. We enjoyed the atmosphere in the bar, had great food and the very charming and rugby loving chef served an incredible...

This is a lovely spot to stay in Powys. A great location and the staff are more than attentive. The hotel has a friendly, relaxed feel and the setting is outstanding. We weren't totally happy with our room and the staff couldn't do enough to oblige. This is our first experience of a doggy hotel and we would thoroughly recommend...

I visited for afternoon tea. Food was plentiful but lacked the finesse often associated with an event that is viewed by most as a treat. You had to make your own tea and milk jugs were huge. Choice of rolls was unusual - chicken with paprika and beef and beetroot remoulade. Lemon cake delicious. Staff were very welcoming and Cameron,...

This is a difficult review to write. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and the staff are exceptionally good - genuinely welcoming and attentive. The problem lies in the fabric of the hotel. It needs a huge investment. It has been updated and had bits tacked on a various stages of its recent history, not always brilliantly done. The...
