Probably been to Gran Canaria 20+ times and stayed in a lot of the hotels around Melonoras and PDI. this hotel is fabulous, great rooms(very little English TV though) Pools look great but unable to use them as we became very ill which obviously spoilt the holiday. We only eat and drank at the hotel so it can really only of come from there. The restaurant is a logistical mess, food spread across the whole dining room very expensive drinks 2.50 for a water which is all we could drink, I would also add repeating what others have said, the quality of the food left much to be desired for a 5 star resort, Much of it cold or just cheap cuts. I don't believe we will return as there is much better value to be had on the Island
Play any song about heaven while reading this review: 6 Star Resort: only Royal Pacific Resort Orlando beat them by a smidge, but the had better weather perfect azure skies and don’t forget the sea commonly known as Playa!’ Americans Patriots Its just a flight away: on to review Exceptional doesn’t cover how beyond I am/was in constant elation and happiness, and I can only reflect that - how about I had a taste of heaven for four days I didn’t want it to end. Usually when I’m at a resort I head out and enjoy my day I said why leave everything is amazing plus funny tge reception felt like something out of Harry Potter grand bold and impressive a place where whispers of respect always ensue in the nicest of places. The smell was I think curated, the champagne and chocolates really calmed my frazzled travel mood: your spa was so awesome with a plant infusion steam which cleared my stuffy sinus and head: and you didn’t charge a price gauging fee to the guests with the food and drinks was so lovely and unexpected. My views were so special I was on the main floor with a patio and table and chairs and a special visit from the kindest loving cat I have ever know bringing much joy as I’m sad my dogs couldn’t join me. Animals like him just gave me another reason to smile. The tub although deep filled up so quickly and all the products went in the tub. The exteriors felt like a hacienda it is not not Miami vice like other resorts, which I saw oft in other resorts. I at one point thought the water blended into the sea and sky and was thinking if a handsome Prince comes up with two horses I would never have left: (no I have my handsome Prince he was watching our sick grumpy Dalmatian) anyway if you were to replicate and were lucky enough to get this hotel in the states think mandarin oriental four seasons and ritz Carlton including the plaza although lovely I always felt their greed machine kick in and I was stuck in a cash register they know the money in your pocket and take it and mostly the staff at said places has more of an aire of superiority then me. (Tough to do) This staff flowed with kindness and smiles easy to hug easy to know: so with the stag I say (thanks Tiny Tim) God blessed us everyone: (can I work here please ha, ha: Anyway take it from someone who is rough and judgement with the highest standards to Put it on your bucket list if I say it’s 6 stars you can darn well bet it is: Gracias!!!…
We had a nice stay at the hotel, and I would classify it as "good" for the price, but "very good" would be pushing it. The rooms were nice, if not exceptional. Dissapointing that there were no tea or coffee facilities in the rooms which I would have expected. The breakfast offering was very significant, but perhaps quantity over quality at times. Staff friendly throughout. Parking on site which was easy.
Nice views, everything is nearby, impeccable service and good food. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway with family or friends. The restaurant which has breakfast buffet was great and they also have a dinner buffet which is decent and they change all their options daily.
One of the best hotels I have ever visited. The grounds are superb and at night, the trees are lit and create a lovely atmosphere. Several swimming pools which are all different. Exceptionally clean which is very important to me. Great evening entertainment which varies from magicians, groups, singers, dancers and circus performances. Fir those who like table service, this is not the hotel for you. I preferred the self service at this hotel so I can browse and choose and experiment with the excellent quality of food. The rooms are adequate, not luxurious, but again well maintained and spotless. We are planning another trip there.
I’ve got nothing but positive things to say about this hotel. Breakfast at Casa Vieja was really nice, I really like how it’s so calm in there. Perhaps the variety could have been a bit better, but otherwise that’s the only flaw I could find. Keep up the great work!
This Hotel has always been our Hotel of choice for the last 15 years The Hotel itself is absolutely fabulous . The location is ideal and the majority of the staff are excellent However we have just returned after a 3 week stay over Christmas and New Year and were very disappointed with a few things 1. The Breakfast is not up to 5 star standard . In fact it is terrible. All the food except the eggs prepared by the chef is luke warm or stone cold. We had to use the microwaves to heat our beans and scrambled eggs etc every day. Not something you would expect to do in a bed and breakfast never mind a 5 star hotel ? The toasters supplied were not fully working the hole 21 days we were there . In fact we decided to have breakfast in a local bar some days The other complaint about breakfast was the fact that you had to cue up to get your own tea and coffee . All previous visits you got served. The Hotel was also full of kids this year in fact one of the other guests said it should be called DIsney Land. Other than the breakfasts and the fact the kids screaming the hotel is a 5 star and hopefully when we go back things will have changed back the way they were before I did raise the above with the restaurant manager who wasn't interested at all However a big mention to Elaina the waitress who was exceptional The cleaning staff are brilliant with the rooms cleaned to a high standard Apart from the 2 niggles breakfast and too many kids the Hotel is definable a 5 star Hotel and the best on the island …
Had breakfast here every day. Nice and quiet. Great service and plenty of options. Miguel was always happy and helpful. All the staff were very polite. Great chef as well Highly recommend. Would love to return
This is a beautiful hotel with many stunning areas in it ,quite an impressive entrance. room was sea facing and comfortable & clean .Location is excellent, The spar is lovely and worth a visit . 2 Water bottles on arrival to room but none after that . I did expect a 5 * hotel to leave water daily . No coffee machine in room or tea again a 5* hotel i did expect this to be a given . Breakfast was lovely but scattered, toasters did not work correctly. Putting the do not disturb sign on the door, had little effect as staff entered anyway, daily . we did enjoy our stay if these issues where addressed we would return . shorts & T shirts are allowed in breakfast area which i agree with as yr on hols . sun beds are reserved in morning which was fine as there where many sun beds available when we where there.…
This is a lovely hotel and my 6th visit. Unfortunately the standard has dropped substantially from previous visits. I was given a room on the first night that had not been cleaned and smelled musty, I raised safety concerns with the location of the room which were totally ignored. The reception staff are defensive and have no interest or training in resolving issues. I emailed the reception and got a response 2 days later. Day 3 of my stay, a customer service guy came to the room and told me that he presumed that I wouldn’t want a spa voucher as I had a child with me. He made all the right noises about wanting me to enjoy my stay but didn’t really offer any solution. When I told him it was my 6th stay and the standard had significantly dropped, he shrugged his shoulders. They don’t care. It’s such a pity as this used to be a gem of a hotel.…
