On arrival, never using the place before the reception staff were so friendly, helpfull and informative. After settling into our room that was 100% clean by " Carol" we were off to the bar, lovely team , good selection of drinks and great reasonably selection of pup food. Not Al la carte, but totally good bub grub.

Morning breakfast was also 100% plenty of choice and well organised by cheff.

Bedding was crisp and white rooms warm and well decorated, coffee machine tea, spar water and buiscuites.
Toilet and shower great with a good selection of towels and soaps.

Room security was 100% with card key access with extra keys for partner.

Only had one little bit af negativity, a young family booked in for one night and their little monster was enjoying the bed as a trampoline and floor landing pad , bless aged 3-4. And up too early for mum and dad.

â—Ź Would we use the site again yes
â—Ź Can we recommend, you bet.
â—Ź One for the Management/ owners, your team are well organised, great at team work , and so know what hospitality is all about.

Thank you very much for our enjoyable stay. " ROOM 13 "

P.s. Not forgetting the room turn round team either. We'll done

Excellent hotel, an perfect example of how a hotel should be run. Clean and well appointed, spacious rooms, spotless bathroom, even had an anti-slip rubber bath mat hanging in a hygienic mesh bag on the back of the bathroom door. Comfy bed, comprehensive coffee and tea making facilities, nothing is not catered for. Ample free parking, friendly staff, it all makes for a great stay. Definitely recommend.

I had a short stay in County Arms and I highly recommend them. Welcomed, responsive and friendly staff. I had a large, clean and beautiful room. A very convenient location for those who use a bus, the bus stop just few steps away when you arrive from the railway station.

I stayed in room 33, a spacious family room. I booked several days in advance, but on arrival the room was very cold and despite increasing the temperature it stayed very cold overnight so that I had to wear extra clothes in bed to stay warm. The following morning I commented to reception and they explained that they control the bedroom temperatures from reception! They increased the temperature but not enough, I was still cold. Staff should have put on the towel rail in the bathroom but they hadn’t; it was effective by the time I checked out having stayed two nights.

In the room there wasn’t a tea pot or fridge, the windows were dirty and a paint splash was in the middle of one window. The bedroom is situated next to two noisy air-conditioning fans – given I was cold they were making a pointless noise, annoying. There wasn't a suitable chair from which to watch TV.

On a positive note, the bath was good with sufficient hot water, the hotel is situated close to Sainsburys, the receptionists were helpful and the room had a great view from two windows over the surrounding countryside.

Travelled from Dorset on Sunday 16 June to attend a funeral of a dear friend on Monday 17 June in Truro. From the minute I entered Reception to check in, the entire stay exceeded my expectations. The welcoming Meet & Greet provided by the Receptionist set the tone for the entire one night stay. Had a lovely Greek Vegan Feta Salad for dinner in the bar area (whilst Sunday Quiz was on but it did not distract), Breakfast on Sunday morning was excellent matched by the service and the external views into the surrounding countryside. The Room I had was well presented, clean, with a quality Tea / Coffee caddy self service tray, which had a good choice of various teas, also a Coffee dispenser. Towels in the bathroom were again of top quality. Excellent, free vehicle parking facilities even for a motorcycle. Overall, my first stay at the County Arms, Truro, and it did it disappoint. It will not be my last. Next time I shall return with me my wife for a weekend stay in Truro and I know where we shall stay for sure. Thanks to everyone.

Service from the beginning was first class we had two family rooms both of which were fantastic. Staff were more than helpful and due to a family circumstance they went beyond expectations. As a family we shall certainly be returning. Both rooms were immaculate and we traveled with two children one aged 4 yrs and a 2 month old baby

The room was perfect, much larger than we expected and incredibly modern. There was a coffee machine as well as a couple of biscuits and teas which was a lovely surprise.
In the restaurant area there was a gluten free menu, which made it so accessible for me. The food was delicious and both me and my partner really enjoyed it.
The bathroom was spotless with lovely branded hand and body soap, which was a treat to use. The location of the hotel being so near to Sainsbury’s also made snack runs easy and the station being nearby allowed us to travel around Cornwall easily. We had a lovely stay and would definitely come back again!

Wr spent one night here to be in Truro for a funeral the next day. We’d travelled a long way and didn’t want to get stuck in heavy holidaymaker traffic. So we were well placed.
Breakfast in the restaurant was fine and lovely view on a perfect day

Quite a few problems in the bathroom. The soap dispenser refused to dispense! So reached for the squeeze soap for the shower and that needed strength to extract. The toilet brush by the side of the toilet was broken and rusty. Some housekeeping inspection needed!

Short of lighting in strategic places / such as where you boil the kettle and make a drink and in the wardrobe area.

A few tweaks would really improve things. The receptionist on duty when we arrived was soooo nice.

I would describe the hotel as OK. But for over ÂŁ100 a night, I'd like more than OK. The restaurant is so over-priced that I will never go back. They serve very cheap, poor-quality food, cooked to death. The kitchen staff need to learn how to wash spinach. My eggs floretine at breakfast was gritty - quite unpleasant but I ate it because I'd paid for it and I was hungry. I did not complain at the time because the one saving grace of this place is the staff who are all friendly and helpful. I've scored it 3 stars because of the staff and the cleanliness.

Hi Bev W, thank you for your feedback regarding your recent visit to County Arms accommodation, Truro. We strive to ensure our guests have the best experience possible when visiting us, and we’re disappointed not to have met your expectations. We regularly track our competitors prices and believe ourselves to be competitive within the market. Were sorry that we didn't live up to you expectations. We are due to have some works done in our rooms in November which will see them get a lick of paint, new carpets and a freshen up in many of the bathrooms, perhaps once these works have been completed you would consider revisiting us? We will pass your comments about the food back to our kitchen team, particularly about the gritty Spinach. We wash all of our salad products and vegetables before they are served to guests and have never had this issue before. It's possible that this particular batch of Spinach was worse than the ones we usually get, we will certainly review our process and take this up with our suppliers. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. When we have issues with meals we are always more than happy to do whatever we can to put the problem right. Whether a replacement meal or money off, it's no problem if we understand the situation. The team as you say are friendly and helpful and really want to make guests stays as enjoyable as they can. We have taken your feedback onboard and endeavour to guarantee that when you hopefully visit us again, we deliver the best experience possible. Best wishes, County Arms accommodation, Truro General Manager

We chose the County Arms because it is close to Truro Hospital and my husband was due to have an eye operation there. After the operation, my husband wanted to recover and we had planned to eat in the restaurant at the County Arms rather than go into town. Unfortunately, the restaurant was not open when we were there so we had to bring our own food with us. This was really very inconvenient and I feel that there should have been a price reduction for this but we were simply told that we could cancel our reservation if this did not suit us.

Hi Wendy F, thank you for your feedback regarding your recent visit to County Arms accommodation, Truro. We strive to ensure our guests have the best experience possible when visiting us, and we’re disappointed not to have met your expectations. We do apologize that our restaurant had to be closed for a short period of time. We did everything we could to ensure guests were informed and we reduced our room rates accordingly. We were also allowing guests to bring their own food in so they could still make use of the bar facilities and not be "trapped" in their rooms while kitchen works were completed. We understand the inconvenience but felt that we did everything we could to lessen the impact to our guests. We have taken your feedback onboard and endeavour to guarantee that when you hopefully visit us again, we deliver the best experience possible. Truro is in the middle of the peninsula of Cornwall so the nearest coast is probably 7 to 10 miles away. However the County Arms is a 20 to 30 minute walk to the centre of Truro. The best option and the one we employed when going into Truro is the local bus, we found it to be both frequent and on time and the bus stop is basically just outside the hotel.
