Hotel Rosevine garners high marks for its amenities, with guests frequently lauding the comfortable rooms featuring sea views, exclusive pool access, and its close proximity to beaches and picturesque gardens. The service at Hotel Rosevine is often described as top-notch, with a professional and attentive staff delivering personalized experiences. While the hotel's value is generally well-regarded, especially for its gardens and cuisine, there are some concerns about room maintenance. Cleanliness is a standout feature, with impeccable rooms and grounds noted by guests. The accommodations are spacious and offer kitchen facilities, though there is feedback suggesting that some rooms could benefit from modernization. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, complete with a cozy lounge and fire, but the decor may appear dated to some. Its coastal location is a highlight, offering stunning sea views and easy access to beachfront activities.

Very impressed with my studio room is was large and immaculate, obviously having been recently re-decorated It had a very well equipped small kitchen area for anyone wanting self catering. i have never seen so many different teas available in any hotel I have stayed in. Travelling with my dog, having a door to an enclosed garden was very pleasing. Being in a separate building at the back of the hotel we did not have the glorious views which residents staying in the main building obviously enjoyed.

Breakfast hot menu was excellent and well presented, although the choice of cereals, fruit etc. could have been improved. Dinner was expensive at £42 + 10% service charge for three courses but the food itself was exceptional in both quality and quantity. However the menu did not make clear that you could order and pay for less than the stated three courses

All the staff were both helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Have no hesitation in recommending a stay at Rosevine Hotel.

Dear FrancesSouthWales, Thank you for taking the time towards providing insight on your pleasant stay with us here at The Rosevine Hotel. We are delighted to see how much you enjoyed one of our dog friendly rooms, which recently got a small facelift. We hope to welcome you back in one of our sea view dog friendly rooms in the future soon. It was a pleasure for our team providing service to you and especially on the food side for our chefs. We have however noted your feedback on the breakfast variety and will be looking at how we could make this more attractive in the future. Thank you for your feedback on this. On the same point we have also noted your concern on the clarification of our menu design and will definitely look at improving this, as we would like all our guests to equally understand the menu as best as possible. Looking forward to welcoming you back to The Rosevine Hotel in the near future! Kindest Regards, Karla & De Reuck General Management Couple

We stayed in one of the apartments with a sea view. The food was good and the room had everything we wanted for a short stay. Comfortable furnishings in a large room with a kitchenette at one end. Bathroom had a shower over the bath, the towels were big and of good quality and the floor was heated ensuring a lovely warm experience when entering with bare feet.
Fresh milk and bottled water was in the fridge on arrival and good quality teas and ground coffee are provided. A small box of fudge and a sleep pack to aid a restful night was on the bed on arrival. Fabulous sea view over the gardens that can be enjoyed whatever the weather throws at you. The food in the restaurant is good or you can reheat food in the microwave, if you prefer to cater for yourself.
Short walk down to the beach and the coastal footpath is close by. Portscatho is a 15 minutes walk away and the village shop sells the basics as well as many luxury wines and food.
The best thing about our stay was the staff at the hotel. They were fabulous. Welcoming, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable about the area and always performing their tasks with a smile 😊
A very big thank you to the staff and management of the hotel for ensuring our stay was a comfortable and pleasant experience.

This is a lovely location in Cornwall. We chose a family apartment with garden and sea view which was very comfortable. Our host when we arrived was Nigel who looked after us very well and was also there in the restaurant for our anniversary dinner. He was very kind that evening as I didn't drink prosecco which was included in the special room rate for dinner. I ordered a glass of red wine instead and this turned out to be complimentary when we received our bill the next day which was most kind. The restaurant also organised a lovely anniversary treat at the end of our meal as shown in the attached photo. Breakfasts were also great with continental and full English available (both if you wanted). The location is perfect for coastal walks and is also close to St Mawes and Charlestown which we visited on our way to the hotel. Our only negative related to the electric car charging points provided on site by ProjectEV. We only have a plug-in hybrid which would have cost about £2.60 to fully charge. However, the ProjectEV charging app requires guests to pre-load the account with a minimum £20 which means we would have had about £17 left on the account indefinitely as we have never seen ProjectEV chargers anywhere else. This is not good practice and rather spoilt the beginning of our stay. It would be great if The Rosevine could resolve this with ProjectEV so that guests are only charged for what they need when charging electric cars, i.e. no pre-loading of £20!

Five star hotel and it was exactly that. We were upgraded to a sea view room with large balcony. The staff were friendly and helpful and the chef went above and beyond cooking a cream sauce without fennel in it. February was a lovely time to visit as it was such good value and the camelias were gorgeous in the garden.

We stayed as part of a Country Hotel Breaks deal which included a one night stay in a Studio Apartment with a sea view, dinner and breakfast a welcome drink and noon check out.

We stayed in Phoebes which was a very large room. It had a sofa and small kitchen area (sink, fridge, table, kettle, microwave) and a juliette balcony with views over the sea. Large comfortable bed and bathroom. The room was very well appointed and included a hairdryer. There is also free Wifi.

Dinner was a 3 course set menu with 4 choices per course. Very tasty indeed. The dining area was a bit cold so wrap up.

The pool area is clean and you basically book a 45 minute session so you have it to yourself. It opens at 0830 and breakfast runs from 0830 to 1030.

Nice lounge area with woodburner and separate games room for the kids.

The cooked breakfast options were really good however I would say the buffet was a bit limited. The food was very good though.

Staff are great, special mention to Becca on reception.

We had afternoon tea on the day of our departure which was very nice. All homemade and a nice selection.

Really lovely hotel and some great walks nearby on the coastal path. You can walk to Portscatho easily which is a pretty fishing village.

Would highly recommend the Rosevine and happily stay again.

My wife and I had a rare child free weekend for my birthday and couldn't have chosen a better place to just kick back, unwind, and recharge our batteries!

The hotel itself was a lovely well decorated place, spacious and yet intimate. Lovely little swimming pool, perfect temperature to unwind after long walks in the beautiful surroundings. We took our 2 dogs along and so were on the ground floor, with our own patio which lead straight into the beautifully well kept grounds, and only a couple of minutes leisurely stroll to the beach.

One of our dogs in only a puppy and had only been out walking for a couple of weeks before we visited and my word did she find her feet on the beach! She even had a little paddle.

Nigel, Becca, John, the chef and waitress were all very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble to make sure we had the perfect stay. We had a delicious fully cooked breakfast delivered to our room every morning, with a good selection of teas and ground coffee in our room, among with kettle, fridge, microwave, toaster and even dishwasher which could all be replenished by request.

The bed, wow, very comfortable. My wife and I both sometimes suffer from back and neck pain so we often have trouble when sleeping in a bed that isn't our own, but no such problem here. The TV had a vast choice of channels and streaming services including Netflix and Prime so for us being in a 'get away from it all' break it was great to have the option of just chilling in bed binging a bit of TV before lights out.

We also had evening dinner delivered to our room, again, absolutely delicious. Beautifully cooked and presented.

Being out of season Portscatho itself was pretty much deserted, with the only pub, and all the eateries closed until the season starts proper. But we came for a quiet weekend so that didn't bother us at all. We had a drink at the members only Harbour Club (50p for non members) which was a friendly and welcoming place, and had a nice chat with some of the locals.

We also had an evening in St Mawes where we ate at the Rising Sun which was lovely food and good value, and stopped for a quick pint in The Victory pub, a nice friendly local. We spent a day at The Eden Project which is something we have always wanted to visit and wasn't disappointed, and also spent an afternoon in Newquay where the highlight for me was finding a cool little coffee bar and retro gaming arcade called Retroblast. Had all the arcade games from my childhood like Space Invaders, Asteroids, Pacman etc.

Overall a fantastic stay at a lovely hotel in a beautiful and quiet location, with incredibly friendly and helpful owners and staff. Hope to be back again sometime in the future and would thoroughly recommend.

Dear David S, Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed review of your experience here at The Rosevine Hotel. What a delight to see how much you explored and went about enjoying the local area. During the off-peak periods of the year a lot of tourist spots close down due to the cold with their outside settings. This in turn opens up a lot of local eateries and pubs or clubs to be enjoyed with more authentic joy. Your kind words for the team will be passed on as they truly work hard to ensure all our guests are well looked after. We look forward to welcoming you back with us here at The Rosevine Hotel in the summer period to enjoy all the extras you just missed out on in the area. Kind Regards, The Rosevine Team

It was supposed to be a 5 star hotel, the worst service I had in my life, the room service told me that I needed to wash my dishes I was thinking why cause I’m in a 5 star hotel paying 500 pounds a night and I need to wash my dishes, it is unbelievable how they treat guests like that. In the check out they never say thank you or something else. I will never come back to this place.

Dear Liliana E1722OU, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent experience with us. At the Rosevine we strive to exceed our guests’ expectations and it disappoints us greatly when we do not achieve our goal. I am very surprised to hear that our team would ask you wash your dishes as this is something that we would normally take care of as part of our daily housekeeping service and would like to understand in more detail so I can discuss this with my team. Please may I ask that you contact me directly on manager@rosevine.co.uk so I may investigate further? Kind regards Nizar Addami General Manager

The hotel is set in a superb location within its own grounds overlooking the Cornish coast and this is the hotel’s selling point. We stayed in an annex at the back of the hotel which we booked as we could stay with our dog. The room is very tired looking with the worse en suite bathroom we’ve ever come across. A weak shower over the bath with no shower curtain so the water goes everywhere and completely soaks the floor. Someone had included this problem in their review back in March but nothing has been done to address it. The garden is also shared with another room which is fine if your dog is okay with other dogs and small children running around. An enjoyable stay is about so much more than beautiful views. It’s the little touches and comforts that we did not experience. Maybe it was bad luck for us in getting one of the sub standard rooms but surely they should all be of the same high standard.

Stayed at The Rosevine and had such amazing stay, I booked for the following week at checkout! The location, the rooms, the staff, the gardens with the endless daisies. There is nothing not to love here. The pool is so special as a family as you get the whole place to yourself for 1 hour which means you can play your music and kids can splash about without disturbing anyone else. The really is a perfect hotel!
