We loved staying at the Hacienda Tamarindo. ALL of the people working there are super friendly and will do whatever it takes to make you feel at home. The property is beautiful and remote, quiet, tranquillo. Highly recommended. The views are outstanding. Wonderful location. The rooms are well equipped, nice and comfortable, very good AC if you need it. The pool is great. Take advantage of the local Tienda Verde store in Esperanza and stock up your in room fridge with water, beer, wine, snacks, etc.. Again, the staff there are wonderful and so nice. We'll be back. The breakfast is excellent as are the lunches they make for you to take to the beach. Easy access, short drives to the great beaches of Vieques. Very close to Esperanza, super short drive. You definitely need a car in Vieques if you are planning to go anywhere such as the store, beach, restaurants, etc... There is a local rooster that can be annoying sometimes in the morning, but you get used to it and they are trying to relocate him if possible. …
We enjoyed our stay at Hacienda Tamarindo. Our room was exactly as expected and the amenities were great! The breakfast was outstanding and we really appreciated the option to purchase a lunch to hit the beach. We also appreciated the ability to use the beach supplies (cooler, chairs, etc). The location was perfect - close to Esperanza but not in Esperanza. Lastly, the view from our patio was a great way to start and finish the day. Thank you again!
Stayed there as part of a New Year's Trip. Hotel has a great location and the staff goes above and beyond to be helpful. Overall, a very nice and charming place to stay in Vieques. Would definitely stay there again.
Photos are not representative of the property. Very limited views and most rooms do not have a balcony even though the listing shows a photo of a balcony. Not only that, but the is hotel engages in extremely illegal and deceptive marketing disclosure practices. No where on this listing does it say that there will be additional hotel resort fees charged even though upon Checking out to pay for the booking it says all fees and taxes are included. Once you get to the hotel, they’ll blackmail you into paying illegally undisclosed fees otherwise you will not be able to check in in a foreign country. They will claim that it’s because Expedia does not allow them to add the resort fees but that is a lie because the next hotel we stayed at with Expedia disclosed on their listing their additional resort fees to be paid upon check in. Hacienda tamarindo is Extremely unethical and shady. Avoid at all costs …
We stayed at the Casita Linda option at this porpoerty. Absolutely fantastic stay..Loved the privacy, the amazing views, the beautiful garden, the lovely pool, delicious breakfast. Loved how non prententious and yet beautiful, clean and immensely comfortable the stay was. The staff is very helpful and caring and we loved every moment of our stay here, Cant wait to come back.
This hotel was exceptional! First we were greeted warmly and then taken on a tour of the quaint hotel that has so much character. Loved the thoughtfulness of the honor bar, the rooms were clean and the pool was the best. Had a great time and we will always stay here going forward!
Thank you Mayra, Liliam and Elba! You guys went above and beyond to accommodate us. The room was beautiful and clean! The views were honestly to die for. The library and breakfast area were such nice touches. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat! Please note that if you’re staying here for the bioluminescent tour, that you should have your transportation arranged before time. Try not to do a 9pm tour unless you have confirmed transportation! It’s a sleepy island so things close at 7-8pm.
My husband and I just spent 5 days and 4 nights on the island of Vieques where we stayed at Haciendo Tamarinda. The scenery is breathtaking with majestic views of the Caribbean; expansive pastures stretch to the ocean with horses—some wild and some domesticated; roosters, hens and chicks populate the countryside; and beautiful plants and flowers surround the Inn. The crowing starts early with hot coffee and steamed milk available by 7 am and a delicious breakfast is served between 8-10 am. You can order a simple and tasty picnic lunch to take on outings. And an impeccably clean, nice-sized pool overlooking the Caribbean awaits your tired body when you return. The Inn’s building is open to nature with a Tamarind tree growing up through its center and beautiful vistas from windows, patios and outdoor hallways. The public spaces and rooms are inviting and oh so comfortable. The beds are excellent. There is an honor bar available 24-7 where you can pick up snacks and drinks and enter your selections on an itemized list to be charged for at checkout. Given that stores are not plentiful, the convenience of this amenity is a big draw. And wonderful hot coffee & steamed milk are available by 7 am with delicious breakfasts served between 8 am-10 am. The owner and staff run an efficient operation, staff appear to get along well, seem happy in their jobs, and are friendly and helpful. When you add this hotel to all of the natural beauty and outdoor adventure that Vieques offers, you have the perfect formula for an awesome vacation. Biking, kayacking, snorkeling, hiking and swimming were our favorite activities on the island, most of which lies on wildlife- protected lands. Trails lead to spectacular and secluded beaches. The restaurants are top notch. And you can pick up artwork and handmade jewelry from local artists. The only way we could leave this oasis was knowing that we will definitely be back in Vieques and staying at Haciendo Tamarindo again, some time soon.…
From the minute we walked through the door... pure perfection. Everything about Vieques is salt of the earth... there is no putting on airs here. Hacienda Tamarindo a small boutique hotel on the Southern Side of the Island is a quiet spot to unwind and focus on re-energizing. The view is exquisite, the grounds are magical. It's the perfect place to lay by the pool and read, or rest while listening to the surf, the wind and the call of the Rooster and bray of the Horses. You would think what could be so special about night time, no sun, no view... but let me tell you, the chirp of the crickets and tree frogs along with the crashing surf is unbelievable.... and I mean unbelievable. If I could move in I would. The spot is clean and charming and the staff are amazingly kind and hard working. We spent 3 nights and then moved to an Air BnB on the other side of the Island, and I wish that I didn't. Hacienda Tamarindo would be a perfect spot for an artist or writers retreat. I pray that this gem always remains as special as it is and doesn't turn into some bass thumping trendy hotel. …
Great location near Esperanza! The property is nicely maintained! The rooms are large and comfortable with nice bathroom amenities. There are antique armoires for your clothes but we were have preferred luggage racks to keep our suitcases off the floor. It rained off and on for the three days that we were in Vieques. The rain didn't keep us from enjoying the beaches and sightseeing. But it did keep us from making use of the pool We had a few hours to enjoy the pool on our last day when the sun came out! The pool and chairs were nice to enjoy a sunset on our last night. It is an easy drive to the beaches and into town for dinner. It is not within walking distance of the town or beaches so an SUV rental is a must. Parking is snug but we were never without a parking space. There is no TV or internet in the rooms, however, the hotel has a library with books, games, and puzzles for rainy days or after a busy day. The books, puzzles, and games were a bit dated. The restaurant is open for breakfast and the food was delicious! It was the perfect start to our day! They offer a picnic lunch that you can order the night before, however, we enjoyed stopping at the local restaurants. We ate at Bananas in Esperanza and Lazy Jacks There is an hotel honor bar in the library with limited snacks at night if you need snacks. We stopped at the local grocery store for snacks and drinks as the restaurant is not open in the evening. . Other restaurants that we wanted to try were closed for a spring break. We used the hotel recommendation of Aqua Sunset Tours for the bioluminescent bay tour and were incredibly happy with the experience from that tour group!…
