This is the highlight of our 41 day European adventure. Irene and her husband made us feel welcome, her breakfasts were a delicious treat, and she graciously made dinner reservations for us at some fabulous places. The room was huge, compete with fireplace, which unfortunately wasn't needed in May. We were a bit startled at first to be greeted by... More

After over a month of touring, most recently, Italy and the city traffic, this stop was a wonderful experience. It has been in the proprietors family for 200 years and they have done a wonderful job restoring the "farm" for guest. If in the area of Dijon, consider this as a base of operation. They have been so nice and... More

It looked intriguing in the pix my husband had showed me, and we were delighted the fairy tale of them came true. Irene is a gracious hostess, offering tips on where to go, history of the area, making dinner reservations (delicious places too!). Her breakfast is a creative gourmet treat every morning (wish we could take her with us:-). I... More

We spent one night in this absolutely lovely Manoir. We were welcomed by the owner's sister and were shown the room, which was great. The whole Manoir is really nice and it is close to Beaune, which is a lovely village. We had already decided this would become our stop-over on our way to Italy from now on and then... More

I stayed here in a group of 5 people and we rented the cottage for 3 nights. It was perfect for a large group and we immediately felt at home. After traveling for 1.5 weeks, it was really nice to have a full kitchen so we could cook our own dinners and laundry machine. There are lots of supermarkets within... More

We stayed only two nights here in the Dovecote which was an experience not to be missed but not for anyone who suffers with vertigo as the stairs are very steep but it is very special. Irene made us very welcome and breakfasts were a delight. A tranquil setting in a quiet hamlet but still close to Nuit st George... More

My husband and I recently stayed at Manoir Equivocal as part of our honeymoon in France. This was by far the coolest place he or I have ever stayed. We slept in the Dovecote Bedroom, which is the tower. The tower was a combination of historical fantasy and modern charm that blended together in such a unique way, I bet... More

This is probably the most spectacular property we have ever stayed in and our thanks go to Irene for such wonderful hospitality. The restoration of this 15th century manor house, dovecote and barn is nothing short of breathtaking. The work that has gone into this restoration, the immaculate gardens, furnishings and every detail to ensure your comfort is a true... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the top of the hill in the hamlet of Moux sits a distinguished manor house in pink tinted stone from the fifteenth century. It was the property of Guigone de Salins and Nicolas Rolin, founders of the Hospices de Beaune. A huge farmyard barn, majestic stone walls, a pigeon tower and rows of crops in the fields around - the panorama swings from the Mont Blanc to the western sun and the golden vineyards right in the heart of Burgundy. ... more   less

“We were in the tower you see attached to the main house - large room, windows on three sides, great views. (I'm sure it has a name, just don't know it).”

“The Dovecote is quite small and therefore only suitable for a couple of nights stay as there is not much room for luggage”
 of 5 bubbles 604jacquelinem, 9 Aug 2013 | Read review
“There was apparently a bachelor's party going on in another room on the property, but we would never have known it if we weren't told about it. The Dovecote was so quiet and peaceful at night. Furthermore, it is by far the most unique of the rooms, just due to being a tower.”
  • First floor of the Dovecote
  • The hanging chair in the Dovecote was so comfortable. I loved curling up in it.
  • The Dovecote is the tower
  • Our super comfortable bed on the top floor of the tower
  • View looking up in the Dovecote. That's the totally modernized bathroom on the bottom right
