The lodge is clearly in the process of being upgraded. Our room was adequate and we had a nice spa. The outside deck left a bit to be desired but I am sure will be rebuilt. The meals were very good value for money and it was nice to buy a bottle of wine without a huge mark up. There are a lot of activities available and overall, other than having the layout of a backpackers, the lodge was a good place to stay.

The Lodge is in a fantastic location beside Lake Rosebery, staff are friendly and helpful, our quaint room had a great outlook to the lake and mountains beyond. The bed was comfortable, ablution area good, the entire unit clean and hygienic. Heater worked great when the room became cold after dinner. I understand that the units are being modernised, ours was certainly an odd configuration with barely adequate room for a couple of suitcases and no wardrobe, only a few hooks on the wall. A lot of noise from the corridor access to adjacent units. Still great value overall and the views worth the cost.

Our cycle group came here on our West Coast tour. Rooms are large, and some have already been updated, with others underway. Very poor WiFi in room - poor strength and kept dropping out! Coin laundry was useful. Dinner meals were of a large size, with plenty of menu choices and options.

Room was spacious, clean with good quality linen. We had a little balcony and the sun beamed in late avo, could see the beautiful lake from balcony. Meals were good and fast. We had trailers and there was plenty of room around the back. My only complaint is that it was Monday of a long week end and the breakfast/coffee was not available until 8am, and we were waiting for that to get moving.
The Lodge dinning area has loads of charm and fantastic view of lake with areas to sit and have a drink and relax.

We were very disappointed with the accommodation, the food and the service (I wouldn't really call it that) provided here. We booked for two nights but just could not stand to stay for the second night. The rooms were very much below par, being dormitory style and not what was advertised on their website. There was no running water to boil the kettle other than in the bathroom, so you had to wait for whoever was in there to finish, in order to get some water. The bathrooms were really quite disgusting. One staff member told us that we could kayak as long as it was daylight, but then when we went to hire some kayaks we were told by another staff member that we were too late because the kayaks had to be back by 5pm. This was particularly disappointing as being able to kayak was one of the reasons we went to Tullah. There was nowhere to heat any of our food and we had to wait until 6pm to eat (my son was famished). The same staff member who wouldn't let us kayak couldn't be bothered showing me the gravy packet so that I could see if I could eat it (I have allergies) - she was "too busy". On top of that, the food was extremely ordinary. I think this place is an opportunity for someone to make an amazing place to stay in a beautiful part of the world, but unfortunately we won't be going back until it's had a major overhaul. Very disappointing.

My husband, daughter and I stayed at the lodge over new years weekend. We booked our accommodation. For the amount you pay per night, the room is not worth it at all. You are in a set up similar to single men's quarters, with a bar fridge, kettle, tea, coffee and sugar. There is no sink to wash up in apart from the bathroom. The door to the room bangs every time someone enters the corridor at all times of day and night. No breakfast included in the $150 per night. Two small chairs to sit on to watch TV. We have stayed in better places for alot less. Would not recommend or return there again.

This place is a great find. We were lucky to have room 2 which had a beautiful view of the lake. The rooms have been updated with comfortable beds, the bathroom clean and tidy and cute touches including timber book shelves and bed heads. There is a play ground for the kids and a games room just of the restaurant, so this place is perfect for families. The restaurant has delicious food and is well priced. This accommodation is great value and well worth the stop!!

We got lucky and were upgraded to a room with a little balcony. So we could sit outside for breakfast etc and enjoy the stunning view on the lake. The room itself was clean - nothing to worry about. Nevertheless it was kind of loud, when people keep running along the floor at night or in the early morning. Food is too expensive for the quality provided. Jet, there is no other option nearby. We stayed for two three nights to visit cradle mountain national park. Easy one hour drive to get to the park, that's a pro!

If I had to skip one accomodation alongside our three weeks here in tassie, it would most likely be this one. We would prefere to stay at the north coast next time, and skip the western parts.

Should be divided into 2 sections. One as mining accommodation and more appropriate holiday stays yet to be built! We stayed in donga-type accommodation (that’s all there is) overlooking heavy machinery of varying conditions - useable to junk). Every request for even the simplest of food amendment (no onion for example) was met with “sorry, everything is pre-made”. It’s nothing more than accommodation for the local mines. Tradies were very respectful but by the very nature of their irregular working hours it was very noisy. Walls are thin, rooms very small and cramped, and altogether unappealing. We went in search of the promoted “lakeside” cabins and found a couple, well away from any water. Fabulous location but in serious need of a total revamp. We found one lady working the restaurant who was amazingly good at her job but as for the rest, a training programme would not go amiss. Would have loved to have given a more positive review as I was expecting great things. Calling it a Lodge is very misleading

Rooms are tiny and overpriced. Felt like a mine camp more than a hotel. Dining room and bar staff are lovely, open fires give it charm. Dumply unkempt reception man didn’t seem enthused to be checking me in, asked questions only to be responded with blunt answers. Rude. Seemed more interested in checking out my wife than telling me where the laundry is located. Unprofessional, and he’s damn lucky I was in a good mood. Honestly put a damper on the rest of my trip. Other young tatted bloke clearly noticed I was uncomfortable and struck up a convo with me about local events and activities.
Met Jenny in the bar and she’s a gem! Enjoyed an Innes tasting with her. View in dining room is sensational and can imagine in the warmer months it’s spectacular.
Meals were oversized but exceptionally tasty, ate every bite.
