My husband, son and I called in for lunch last week which we really enjoyed. The food was excellent and good value for money but what pleased me so much was that I left my glasses behind and living over 40 miles away I was really impressed and thankful when the hotel offered to post my glasses back to me... Stayed here for one night during October while attending a family wedding. There was some building work going on at the front of the hotel but there was still plenty of parking. We had a double room which was warm and comfortable although the bathroom could do with a refurb. The shower cubicle didn't have a door and the tiling... More

We decided to stop here for Sunday lunch as we were in the area, we had no reservation but the waiter fitted us in after a short wait at the bar. The food was excellent value for money and portion sizes were very generous- couldn't fault it at all. My only criticisms are very minor. We ate in the bar... More

Our Inn keeper dropped us off here suggesting it was the best in town. They had a big party going on in one room and we were advised that our food would take an hour to come out. We stayed and had a drink and ordered our food.....and sure enough, it took an hour. Poor planning on someones part..the party... More

Spent a very enjoyable night in the Fir Trees recently, with a very clean, comfortable and quiet room. The food was equally good, and the staff very friendly and welcoming. Looking forward until the next time.

Stayed here on several occasions over semerald years. Good value for money, spacious rooms, good breakfasts. There is a proper bar/pub at the rear of the hotel. Which is very lively, having live music on at the weekend. It doesn't impact on your sleep as the rooms are at the front of the hotel. Would recommend a room at the rear... More

We also endeavour to place guests on arrival in the most appropriate sections... More

Decided to try the fir trees for Sunday carvery.. Wat a disappointment!! Food was awful! They only had chicken goujons as hot starters , my husband and I went for the beef as our main and it was like rubber , we couldn't eat it .. Desert awful !! So messy and not very appealing, there wasn't even ice cream!... More

What kind of hotel holds a disco on the same Thursday the GCSE results come out? Never any other Thursday's over the summer so you's can't say it was a weekly disco, glade to see the PSNI shut it down as it was full of 16 year olds, you would think the owner would know better and to keep that... The reviewer makes some very serious but totally unfounded assertions. The Management of the Fir Trees Hotel are acutely aware of their social responsibility and work closely with various statutory bodies to combat the problem of underage drinking. Contrary to the reviewer's opening statement the Fir Trees Hotel did not ''hold a disco on the same Thursday the GCSE results... More

I have eaten here many times and have always enjoyed the quality of the food and service. The atmosphere is that of old world pub meets modern cuisine and good service. Well wort a visit or drop in if passing.
