We booked a single and double room. Day 1 there were no staff on the bar and lunch menu tasted like it had come out of packets. We were given the sweet menu but staff took so long coming back over that we gave up. Double room sweltering, single was freezing. Neither could be controlled. Day 2 and the breakfast...

Personally I have had no bad experiences at this hotel. The food and drinks are great and the staff are very helpful. I know the owner as a friend as well as some of the staff. I have been going to this place ever since I was a child and I have loved this place ever since. Thanks to the...

Stayed for 4 months (3-4 nights per week) for work. Fine hotel, cosy rooms, excellent food. Tried nearly the whole menu and never disappointed. Quiet rooms. Staff are very nice and friendly and got to know bar staff like sean, aoife, danielle, laura. Good rate on rooms and if back for another project in the local, would have no hesitation...

Had my handbag stolen in this hotel while at a family function, when we complained we were told that other people had items stolen the same night. When we asked to see the cctv they made excuses that they couldn't access it, or then they said they couldn't work it and last of all they said that the cctv wasn't...

My husband, son and I called in for lunch last week which we really enjoyed. The food was excellent and good value for money but what pleased me so much was that I left my glasses behind and living over 40 miles away I was really impressed and thankful when the hotel offered to post my glasses back to me...

Stayed here for one night during October while attending a family wedding. There was some building work going on at the front of the hotel but there was still plenty of parking. We had a double room which was warm and comfortable although the bathroom could do with a refurb. The shower cubicle didn't have a door and the tiling...

We decided to stop here for Sunday lunch as we were in the area, we had no reservation but the waiter fitted us in after a short wait at the bar. The food was excellent value for money and portion sizes were very generous- couldn't fault it at all. My only criticisms are very minor. We ate in the bar...

Our Inn keeper dropped us off here suggesting it was the best in town. They had a big party going on in one room and we were advised that our food would take an hour to come out. We stayed and had a drink and ordered our food.....and sure enough, it took an hour. Poor planning on someones part..the party...

Spent a very enjoyable night in the Fir Trees recently, with a very clean, comfortable and quiet room. The food was equally good, and the staff very friendly and welcoming. Looking forward until the next time.
