Ashlea Cottages have all that singles, couples, families/large friendship groups need to give them the perfect relaxing break in my favourite part of the country. The owner and staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful, totally unintrusive but there when you need them. The cottages themselves are well equipped and laid out and spotlessly clean. When all this is combined...

Ashlea Cottages is ideally placed for the Antrim coastal area, with lots to see & do, for us this is where a lot of family live around the area, two of the closest places to visit are the Giants Causway & Bushmills distillery, it is also ideally placed for Portrush, Portstewart if you want to spend some time by the...

Great review Trevor and many thanks for taking the time to write it. As you say we are located right in the middle of the area with lots to see and do all around the coast Our tearoom 'Dora's' is proving to be a great hit with both locals and guests to the area and offers the opportunity to 'eat...

Gtreat location and lovely cottages - great for family gatherings etc One of the mattresses was so soft it was unusable had to drag a spare one from other room to swap. Downstairs shower was hopeless had to use bath or others' en suite shower room as no shower in upstairs bathroom. Marks on carpet were very off putting and...

Many thanks for your very honest review and we certainly take on board the comments you made. The downstairs shower has now been sorted and the carpets shampooed again! There are 2 double sockets in each bedroom although I must admit that some of them may be hidden by furniture and we will certainly be 'retiring' the sofa this winter....

Ashlea cottages are perfect for a weekend break. Although a bit dated decor wise, we found them very comfortable. They have everything you need including a fully equipped kitchen. Tom, the owner and his daughter are very friendly, give excellent advice on the cottages, the local area and taxi services. There is a eurospar and Lidl about 10 minutes walk...

Many thanks for a great review John and thank you for taking the time to submit such a comprehensive one. It is always a challenge to make 35 year old accommodation look modern and we do try hard to make them comfortable and homely, but we will be undertaking a programme of refitting and refurbishment this winter so, hopefully, you...

The cottage we stayed in was roomy clean and lovely to relax in. As it is " pet friendly " this was an added bonus for us. The owners of the cottages, the Houston's are friendly and helpful. Their café/bistro' Dora's has an excellent selection of lovely food. All in all I would recommend a stay here. Harry.

We booked this because Ashlea Cottages are dog friendly. We didn't know what to expect but we most certainly were not disappointed. The cottage was clean, tidy and equipped with all we needed. Bed linen, towels, toiletries were all supplied. Cooker, fridge freezer and washer dryer in the kitchen along with all necessary utensils even a tea towel and wash...

Thank you so much for a fabulous review Gail and we certainly find that dog owners appreciate being able to bring their pets as well. We try to provide everything our guests our guests require to make their stay with us as enjoyable as possible although we do sometimes have problems providing the weather!! Portrush is a beautiful location in close proximity to many worthwhile places for tourist to visit. The cottages however are very tired and in need of a good scrub, painting updating. There was mold on the ceilings of two shower ares, with spiders, both dead and alive on the walls and floors. The kitchen was functional however the pots and...

Thanks for your review and I'm really sorry the cottage did not meet your expectation. I can only apologise for this, and admit that at the end of a really busy season we may have 'taken our eye off the ball' in terms of presentation and certainly there is no excuse for the items you have mentioned. We have taken...

It has to be said the welcome we received on our arrival was above and beyond any thing I've ever had before from a cottage rental. We'd called about arriving early and were told it wasn't a problem. Once we actually arrived Tom was incredibly welcoming and was a mine of information about places that were worth checking out. The...

It's very hard to be humble after such a wonderful review Mike !! but we genuinely believe that making our guests feel welcome and comfortable is so important as part of their experience in this wonderful part of the world. That was only the $2 tour - just imagine what the $10 tour is like!!?

Ashlea Cottages really are a great place to stay, we were made to feel really welcome by the owners and found the accommodation to have everything we needed and more. They were clean and well presented and in an ideal location to explore the wonderful north coast. We would definitely recommend staying there and we will definitely come back ourselves!

Accomodation was good and Tom was very helpfull. The only critism that we would have is that the play area can get somewhat overcrowded when both the holiday guests and those visiting the cafe want to use the facilities all at the same time. Apart from that an enjoyable holiday.

Really appreciate the excellent review David and totally take your point about the play area being somewhat 'busy' at certain times of the day. 'Dora's' has become very popular with families visiting the tearoom and we are going to have to try to increase our facilities to cope with this - more later!
