We booked for a Signature Room and was given Room 1. It was located on the first floor of the main building of the hotel's frontage. The room is spacious and tastefully furnished and decorated. It was equipped with a fridge, iron & board, hair dryer, a safe and adequate wooden hangers. There is also a tea and coffee facilities with an added bonus of a proper bottles of fresh milk, still and sparking water in the fridge. The en-suite have a walk in shower and a separate bathtub. Love how powerful the shower was and the Bramley toiletries - if you wish to use the tub, as the hotel staff for bubble bath and extra bottles of water if staying multiple days. Towels are quality Egyptian cotton. Loved the room but if you are fussy about your mattress, we suspect that this room have a split one (probably 2 twin beds made into a King) as we can feel the split in the middle of the bed. Not a big issue for us but will prefer a proper king bed should we stay again. There was also bit of traffic noise as we were located along the High Street. if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room at the courtyard. We dined at the 3 Star Rosette Restaurant on our first night and the food was gorgeous. Portions were perfect for me but for some, you may have to order some sides to fill your appetite. We enjoyed the Dexter Beef Fillet and the Roasted Cod Loin. Prices for a bottle of wine starts from £28. Very nice relaxed ambiance and lovely interiors. Don't forget to have a drink at the beer garden and to try the Butcombe Gold Beer! Overall, what really made our stay was the excellent location and customer service. Hotel is bang in the middle of Corsham which is also a good base to explore Wiltshire. The staff are all lovely and polite and we would like to specially mention Charlie who always had that lovely smile! We can highly recommended this inn and hoping to return soon.

Have eaten here twice in a week - the restaurant is fantastic. The food is delicious, beautifully presented and the service excellent. We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable despite the strict observation to social distancing. The menu lists all the produce grown in their garden and there were beautiful fresh flowers on every table. It is very unpretentious and the wine list prices very fair. Love it here!

Could not be more pleased with our stay here!
Immediately greeted by friendly, helpful staff. The room was beautiful and had everything we needed throughout the stay, even to small touches like a bottle of hand sanitiser and homemade shortbread.
We were lucky enough to get reservations in the restaurant for both dinner on Friday and Sunday Lunch, and were blown away by the food. Service was also impeccable!
Location was great for us, easy to get into Bath whilst still enjoying a idyllic countryside getaway.
Already counting down for our next stay!

I wish I'd read the bad reviews on here before booking this place for our wedding day as many of them reflect our experience.
The good: they gave us the lounge for the evening which was lovely for our wedding guests. Our room and bathroom were very nice. Corsham is a lovely place the Methuen Arms is a nice place to drink.
The bad: poor customer service, lack of care, miscommunication, poor dietary options and overpriced.
As we were getting married this weekend we wanted a nice experience not a string of miscommunications on the run up and arrival about rooms and then food.
Being local we chose the room and the one next to it in person, shortly afterwards confirmed by my parents on booking. Despite this they got rooms elsewhere. We asked on booking if they could cater for vegan and gluten free diets and were told this was no problem. We wouldn't have booked if they had said "We do not purport to be a vegan restaurant and therefor do not carry a great deal on site" which is was the response later. However this seemed a surprise (despite the fact we reminded them several times in advance) and there was hardly any choice in the morning (my partner had a veggie breakfast without everything not vegan or gluten free). You would imagine that with some effort they could get vegan sausages, hash browns, vegan pastries, non dairy yoghurt ... But there is very little effort regarding breakfast for people with other dietary requirements . They ran out of both soya milk and vegan margarine. The coffee we asked for never came. However when I complained about breakfast in writing I was told that they were "more than accommodating" because they had created some vegan options for us the night before for our evening meal. We paid a lot for our stay - £170 for each night as well as our parents so really think we could have been treated better. Like another reviewer commented here, I very rarely give poor reviews and gave the manager a chance to respond first. His response was quite hostile.
As we left one of the housekeepers congratulated us on our wedding, which was the only time any of the staff acknowledged that this was a special time for us and one of the reasons I'm not giving it the lowest score.

Absolutely amazing. Just checked out after two nights as a couple, staying in a signature room and I was really blown away by the whole experience. The room was quirky and old but decorated in a really tasteful and stylish way. Fabrics and furnishings seemed really expensive and high quality. Lovely rain shower in the bathroom and bramley toiletries, and robes too which gave it such a luxury feel for a very reasonable price.
So many nice touches like a free beer and Prosecco in the mini fridge, homemade cookies and lovely welcome postcard sent before arrival.
Breakfast was one of the best I have ever had and I LOVE to brunch at fancy places!
Thank you to the lovely team and we cannot wait to return/recommend to friends.

A delightful 2 nights spent staying here. Accessible parking, extremely warm welcome from Jo on reception, showing us to a gorgeous, charming room with everything we could possibly need.
Great food, great selection of various areas, indoors and out, to eat and drink in. Friendly and helpful service throughout and I wholeheartedly recommend.
From previous reviews….
Parking - signs everywhere to inform/remind you to input your vehicle registration when using hotel car park, including cards on each and every table throughout (even in the washrooms too) with staff verbally reminding you when checking in or ordering food/drinks. No excuse if you get caught out there!!
Mini bar- inside the well stocked mini fridge in the room, the items which were complimentary were clearly labelled, plus we given that information by Jo who familiarised us with everything in our room.
Again no excuse if you get caught out there!!
No negatives from us.

Me and my partner stayed here for a night en route home. The room was really plush, gorgeously decorated, with great little touches like the Bramley products and homemade cookies. The walk in shower, the dressing gowns, and the bedding all made it feel super luxurious. The breakfast was fantastic, they catered well for veggies - the continental spread was to die for. The staff we met were lovely.
Only downside was the lack of the promised DAB radio in the room. Will definitely return if in Wiltshire again!

We visited the Methuen Arms last week, for lunch with our grandchildren, who had actually requested to eat there.
The social distancing rules were in force, so we felt very safe at our table.
Our granddaughter and myself ordered toasted sandwiches of Parma ham & cheese on granary bread......they came with a small salad garnish and some fries. We’ve had these previously and they were great.
This time the sandwiches were almost devoid of filling, certainly not enough to cover the bread, so much so that we left most of the dry bread and just ate the small piece with filling.
I brought this to the waitress’s attention as she cleared the table.
Five minutes later she returned with apologies from the chef AND manager, with the offer of a free dessert.
I chose a sticky toffee pudding to share between the children, but this turned out to be just a lump of dry cake, with a tiny amount of sauce.
I’m not sure what is going on behind the scenes at the Methuen Arms, but the food offerings have gone downhill.
We have eaten many times here, and always enjoyed it, even though it’s quite pricey.
However we won’t be returning until we hear that things have improved.

2nd stay in this lovely hotel. We had the luxury room this time . At £110 it was very good value. Very comfortable bed , beautiful furnishings and great en-suite bathroom with roll top bath.
We had Sunday lunch when we arrived and it was delicious. In the evening the hotel was closed so we called to Mother & Wild , a short walk away, to share a pizza and drinks . After that we called in The Flemish Weaver, a quirky little pub.
The following morning breakfast at the Metheun was superb. Home made granola, fruits, yoghurt and a choice of cooked breakfast.
Lots to do and see in the area . Corsham Court is close to the hotel and Bath is a 20 min drive away.
We will definitely return but stay longer next time. Thank you very much to the staff who were helpful, friendly and efficient.

We went for our first break as a couple since having our daughter and needed some romance in our lives and the Methuen arms did not disappoint. We went for a superior room and we are glad we did. The room looked beautiful on arrival, had music playing on the DAB radio our arrival. The en suite was gorgeous with a big rainfall shower and freedstanding roll top bath in the bay window. The bed was so comfortable and large too. The location was wonderful for us right on the high street so close to restaurants and pubs although due to the current pandemic and curfew we couldn’t necessarily make the most of them being on the doorstep!! Finally the breakfast was really tasty, packed full of quality ingredients and just the right size to set you up for the day. We will recommend to our friends and hope to return one day!

No ac and we had one fan allocated to our 2 rooms
I'm afraid that it's an old Georgian building and we don't have a lift, very sorry! All of our restaurant space can be accessed on the ground floor though.
With kindest regards
