This is not a hotel but not really a traditional bed and breakfast either. Bagshaw Hall is prominently situated above the town of Bakewell and just a short downhill stroll to the town centre. We stayed in the main house which has a number of very large rooms which are somewhat dated (it is an old hall). There is car...

We stayed last weekend for 2 nights in the Chatsworth Penthouse Suite. The room was great with plenty of space, a comfortable large bed, separate shower/toilet and a large bath in an area of the main room. A nice touch. Some previous reviews have complained about cleanliness but we didn't see any problems. The facilities in the room are perfect,...

We're really glad you enjoyed your stay at Bagshaw Hall, and thank you for taking the time to write a positive review. We do have additional off site parking close by should the hall car park fill up, as you point out the road parking is for badge holders so we encourage guests to speak with us first before parking...

Georgina was very accomodating when we booked and asked for the room with a bathtub, upon check-in we were pleasantly surprised with the Penthouse room! Views from this room are amazing and you can almost see 360° the town of Bakewell. Luxury at its best. King size bed, large shower with monsoon shower head. Dates back to 17th century- very...

Had a lovely stay here. Property dates to 17th century. Room was a good size and had a great decor. There is no evening food or bar in the Hall, but it's only a few minutes walk from Bakewell town centre where there are some lovely establishments. Breakfast is available (if ordered in advance) and is served in the room.

Booked at £140/night for 2 nights expecting to be in a suite in this Grade II star building overlooking Bakewell to celebrate a birthday. We were shown not to the main hotel but to an annex building which can only be described as upmarket student accommodation.Perfectly fine if you are paying £50/night and very handy if you have friends staying...

This was a booking through Late Rooms and it states quite clearly the difference when booking Bagshaw Hall or the Sleep Lodge. Room rates for our suites and apartments in Bagshaw Hall are substantially more than in the Sleep Lodge so this should also help a guests decision in relation to their available budget. I would like to challenge them...

Tucked down a little one way street is a real Jewell in the crown in the shape of Bagshaw Hall. Car parking is limited but I had no problems at all. We shown to our apartment which was the Cavendish apartment. When we saw this apartment it was Fantastic with dining room, living room, fully equipped kitchen, bedroom with a...

Thank you Nial for your lovely review of Bagshaw Hall, we're really pleased you enjoyed your stay, and look forward to hopefully seeing you again in the future. What wonderful timing for this review too as it relates to the Cavendish Apartment, which was the same apartment as reviewed by John K below, who called it "dismal and disappointing". As...

Very disappointing overall. Check-in instructions on the outside of the building said to phone on arrival, which we duly did when we arrived at 6pm on Saturday 10 October 2015. No reply. We left a message to ring us back, but it didn’t happen. After waiting 15 minutes we rang again from our other mobile, but again no answer. 5...

From: David Oulsnam - Owner Bagshaw Hall is a Grade 2 Star Listed Building and was named in 1684 and has a wealth of historic features both internally & externally to warrant its listing. Lets start with the two positives from this guest: • 5-star for cleanliness. • The view was pleasant. We have a number of guests who particularly...

Bagshaw Hall sits on a hill overlooking Bakewell, with an short and easy though steep walk down to the centre. The hall itself has exposed beams and appears in good condition. We paid the extra for a top floor room with views and plenty of space. The room was modern and well equipped. It was a lovely space to stay....

Lovely stay in this old hall. Very comfortable accommodation with king size beds. Cooked breakfast not available but nice cafes in Bakewell which is a short walk from the hall. Good self catering facilities and perfect location. Good base for walks around the Peak district and close to Chatsworth
